Title: Constant shadows switching sides past cycle? Post by MattyAA on Sep 11th, 2009 at 4:08am
Hello, I was wondering if any of you have any input on what I am going through atm, my usual cycles are in april every 2 years, though this year my cycle despite starting on april, was also accompanied all the time by shadow like pressure-pain behind eye thingies.
I thought it is normal since I red about it on boards, but even when my cycle was gone in half of may since it lasts around 2-3 weeks, I still have been getting constant shadows, sometimes even going on for 3 days or week, only switching sides at times, as in left side pressure/low pain backs off and then suddenly I feel tingling in right eye and the same happens on right eyeball, and so on and so on, also at times I feel my teeth are hyper-sensitive and generaly I feel bad, it is like that since april till now (September) and I am not sure if it is some new diseases? Since Oxygen and Redbull does not work for it, perhaps some input? |

Hi Matty
I know from talking to you over the last few months that these constant shadows are causing you considerable stress. 5 months seems a long time to be experiencing shadows after what should be the end of your cycle. Maybe the beast has just morphed or it could be another underlying condition. It sucks that the 02 & red bull are not doing their job, because you really don't want to be taking pain killers all the time, if indeed you are. I'm sure the guys will be along shortly to offer their experiences and hopefully a few tips on how to combat these long constant shadows...! Lefty..! |

Subject: Chronic Disease; Hernia complications; Humans; Palatine Tonsil; Pharyngeal Diseases complications; Arnold-Chiari Malformation complications; Headache etiology
Abstract :This article briefly reviews the spectrum of headaches associated with Chiari type I malformation and specifically analyzes current data on the possibility of this malformation as an etiology for some cases of chronic daily headache (CDH). Chiari type I malformation is definitely associated with cough headache and not with primary episodic headaches, with the rare exception of basilar migraine-like cases. With regard to CDH, there is no clear evidence supporting an association with this malformation. An MRI study would be justified only in patients showing either a Valsalva-aggravating component or cervicogenic features. Hydrocephalus and low intracranial pressure syndrome should be ruled out in patients showing tonsillar herniation in an MRI study and consulting due to daily headache. Matty, as regards to Arnold-Chiari Malformation this may indeed be related to chronic daily headache. This may be worth futher investigation by your neurologist. Lefty..! |
