Title: Up High, Down Low, & irrelevancies. Post by George on Sep 15th, 2009 at 9:20pm
This thing is beginning to lose its charm. :P
It seems to be wimping out, though, here in week 5. Been a few days since I pulled an all-nighter with multiple hits. Funny thing...and I don't know if something similar happens to other episodics...but I know it's the latter-stage of the cycle, because I'm only getting hit "down low" now, and not "up high". By "down low", I mean that the pain seems to center around the V2 or maxillary branch of the trigeminal nerve, behind the lower part of the orbit of the eye. By "up high", I mean that the most intense portion of the hit is in the region of the V1, or opthalmic branch of the trigeminal, behind the upper portion of the orbit, and into the area of the mental foramen. Early on in a cycle, I always get hit "up high". That seems to fade just past the midpoint, and the remaining hits seem to occur "down low". During high cycle at the midpoint, I'll get one "up high", and then another "down low". I don't like that very much. Apropos of nothing previous, I haven't been very impressed with my efforts to avoid or shorten a cycle using supplements. (500 mg. magnesium, calcium with vit. D and zinc, vit. B6 and B2, and fish oil). This little stinker began two months later than I expected it, but it seems to have been just about what I've come to expect over the years. Still taking the melatonin at 15 mg a night, but the results have been somewhat less than perfect this time around. I don't drink at all during a cycle for the usual reasons--but I had a reminder just how sensitive we can be to alcohol when I sampled a rum-soaked cookie at a picnic, and took an almost immediate hit. Well--a couple more weeks oughta do the trick. Thank goodness for O2. Best, George |

Hoping the beast wimps out, tucks tail, and leaves you George.

Even with the "keep the chin up, never let the beast win, I'm better then he is" attitude......the long cycles sure suck the life outta you, don't they? :-/ Praying he's had enough of you.

Hey George!
OK, you're taking the melatonin and the magnesium. What about the kudzu, scullcap, and St. John's Wort? It's an easy fix! ;) Regards, Jim |

Yep. Trying to catch up on sleep now, taking advantage of the past three nights PF. It's getting there. Kilowatt3 wrote on Sep 16th, 2009 at 12:35pm:
Good question, Jim. I fully intended to try the "Synergy" mix this time, but the simple answer is that--I forgot. Haven't been tracking all that well for the past bit. No excuse. :-/ At this point, the thing seems to be dying rapidly, so I'm chicken to mess with it. I think it's on its own way out, and I believe I'll let it go. I'll continue to keep it in mind--for the next go-around. All the best, George |
