Title: The Beast returned after 27 months PF Post by Marc48 on Sep 27th, 2009 at 2:13pm
Hello to all my fellow clusterheads....
My name is Marc and I am here in Memphis, I hate the fact that I am back among the suffers, but glad you are here and I am here for you as well. I am episodic and have been since 1983....over the years the cycles have gotten farther apart, but still show up just when I think I might be done forever...LoL. I just started my high dosage of Prednesone this week and tapering down, but still had a breakthough yesterday, but thankfully I didn't have to take a shot (Imitrex) and no rebounds. I just wanted to introduce myself and wish everyone PF days......I'm with you!!! Marc48 |

O2?
Have you tried it? Has it worked for you in the past? Sorry to hear that the beast has returned. When was the last time you checked in? All the best :) |

I feel your pain. I went fifteen years without an attack. I actually thought I was done with them. I guess I should consider myself lucky for going that long. I wasted no time getting back on the appropriate medication and adding a few new things I've learned here. I had ten attacks in the first 36 hours of this cycle and in the past twelve I've had none.

I am going on 18 monthe PF and have officially declared myself "cured" after 31 years of this crap! ;) (Of course I still have 8 e-tanks lined up in the garage!)
The attacks after a long remission really suck. A reminder to always stay prepared to do battle, while enjoying the pain free time. Do read the "oxygen info" link on the left. Oxygen has ended my use of imitrex. It works just as fast and has none of the lingering after effects...not to mention how much cheaper it is! Is the doc starting you on any prevents while you do the pred taper? Verapamil, lithium, topomax etc? I use a 10-14 day pred taper at the start of a cycle while I wait for the lithium to take effect. Blocks 70% of my attacks. Glad you jumped into the board! Joe |
