Title: wondering if others are the same
Post by MeggyD on Oct 12th, 2009 at 1:38pm
I am very new to the whole cluster headache diagnosis and I just had a question that others who suffer from this maybe could help me with. I have a headache everyday usually between a 5-7 on a scale of 1-10 and then there are the attacks that bring the level up, but I wanted to know if others have the same thing. Does everybody with ch have pain 24/7 besides the horrible attacks??

Nope. Check the other thread you started.

P.S. - You can only be diagnosed by a doctor, not a nurse practitioner. It would be like me certifying that a bridge is safe for traffic. I could do it, but I'm not qualified to do so.

I would not say 24/7 but close to it.  I think what you may be refering to is what we call shadows.  They are the low level of pain ha that lingers between hits.   For example:  From 8-9:30 I am at a level 10.  From 9:30 -10 I am at a level 4-6.  From 10-11:30  I am at a level 10.  From 11:30 to 1:00 I am at a level 4-6.  From 1 - 2:30 I am at a 10.  Does that sound like what you are trying to describe or did I miss it all together?

Yes that does sound like it by my higher levels are much farther apart than that...but thanks for the help...
