It is AWFUL!!!! I had to go to the orthopeadic doctor for a check up, both of my schools and a few other errands. This was bad for anyone but what a pain on crutches with a broken leg!! The wind is even worse than the rain. I'm 10 miles from Ocean City MD and it's a mess. On the plus side my doctor said I can begin weight bearing but 6 more weeks of no work and then we reevaluate. I have to go out tomorrow morning for Physical therapy then I'm staying in all day tomorrow.

Charlotte...glad to hear that you are home.  Couldn't imagine being out in this weather on crutches.

Checked on my family downstate.  Mom and Step-Dad who live off of Rt 26 are hunkered down.  Brother and his wife who live one house from the back bay off of Rt 54 are probably going to evacuate.

Ocean has breached the dunes at The Inlet and the bridge is closed in both directions.

Gonna be a rough night for all so stay safe and, as Jack said, hunker down.

Indian River Schools are already closed. Rehoboth area is not great right now. Ocean City winds are 40mph. It's going to be a long night!

Sounds pretty crappy down there. Everybody break for the storm cellar.

i used to run around quite a bit in Delaware. its pretty flat and surrounded by water. didn't seem like an easy place to evacuate from if you had to get out in a hurry. its a very pleasant state to drive through though.

Family is safe, thank goodness...at least until the next high tide.

This is the DelDot website for anyone interested in watching what's happening in "Slower Delaware":

DE1 & Inlet Road and DE1 & Bathhouse Road South Indian River Inlet are taking the worst of this storm.

This is a surfing site from Ocean City, Maryland....wave heights, swells, etc.  The surfers are chomping at the bit until they can get back into the water.  Probably some crazy yahoos out there now.
