Title: verapamil forgets is bads newses Post by Perediablo on Nov 20th, 2009 at 12:21am
I recently skipped 3 doses in a row due to breaks in my morning and evening routines (and basic forgetfulness). When I did remember, my stock was empty. Oh my!
I immediately called the pharmacy and ordered up a new bottle. This went as normal, but the 3 missed doses dropped me out of my effective build up in the system. My dose of 480mg per day has kept a great lid on the big hits. I still had 1 or 2 kip 3's per week; nothing I can't handle with O2. But that little slip of dosage kicked me in the teeth. I had nearly forgotten what a k-9 felt like. 5 hits per day for nearly 4 days was brutal. I think I freaked out a couple of fellow students in my US History class with a small but evil k-6 during a lecture. I was a terror to my poor wife. I wish I could go back to that once a year 6-8 week cycle. It was rhythmic, steady, I could always count on it. Sporadic hits of 3-20 per week for almost 2 years now is crap. At least the verapamil keeps them tolerable. Today's moral: Never forget your preventatives. Tape a note on your mirror or car dash to remind you every day. My wife, bless her, reminds me as often as she can remember herself. I owe her more than I can ever repay. She is my life, light, and daily reassurance that everyday is worth it. Eric |

Have mentioned to my doc many times I thought things were going well and we tried decreasing, there's a lag time of about 48 hours 'til I get hit with the self-inflicted bad news and a lag time building up again. Once in a great while I guess right lowering, but when you need it, staying consistent is advisable.
