Title: Many years
Post by Stubeedoobee on Nov 23rd, 2009 at 10:30am
Hi all. I am a 53 year old guy and I have suffered with these migraines about 2/month since my early 20s. I recently found out on my own what I have been dealing with, as I was diagnosed with "occipital migraines" due to tension. But I know my #1 trigger is abrupt atmospheric pressure changes, and I had to find out on my own. I am posting something about FMLA on another Forum area which may be of interest to people. I wish you all the best. Anyone who has never dealt with this type of pain cannot imagine what it is like.  Stu

Have you actually been diagnosed by a MD or possibly a headache specialist?  Diagnosing oneself is not the best way to go when dealing with cluster headaches.

Yes, finally after many years of being diagnosed with "occipital migraines", doctor has determined cluster migraines as a diagnosis. That's why I came here to visit !

If I were you, I'd find another doctor.  *If* he diagnosed you with *cluster migraines*, he is grossly misinformed as to the nature of cluster headaches.

My mistake...I meant to say cluster headaches. I am still thinking "occipital migraines" which was the diagnosis for so many years. Yes, it is my doctor's diagnosis based on reanalyzing years of tests, symptoms, and the nature of the headaches...also the many treatments and the results of them through the years.
