Hello to everyone. Thought sharing good news for once was in order. I have been going through this cycle with basically nothing. I couldn't afford to go back to the Head Pain Institute since I first diagnosed in Feb '06. So every year's cycle since has been a hot washcloth and lots of rocking and talking like a drunken sailor. When I checked the mail today, I had a "settlement" check from a company I was laid off from in Sep '08. Had written them off and not thought of the situation since. Can't believe it!! I called MHNI (Michigan Head Pain and Neurological Institute) right away and got someone's cancellation for Monday morning coming up here. Oh, what a christmas miracle!!!!! Prednisone and Oxygen here I come!! So so so excited! I find out next week if I got the job I interviewed for back in November and feel very good about the outcome. It was so hard to be jobless for almost six months, have a great interview, then be scared shitless I wouldn't be able to make it through training if offered the position. I am so thankful. There really must be a Santa after all. PFD to all and to all an uninterupted sleepful night. P.S. I tried the energy drink chug last night when the beast came and seemed to take a couple notches off the kip scale. May be coincidence as it was my first time, but thank you so much to all of you and your great advice.

Hello from another Michigander! I live about 8 miles from MHNI, in fact my O2 supplier is right around the corner.

I've been to MHNI's inpatient program at Chelsea Hospital. They know what they're doing. I've met Dr. Saper, founder & director. He and my diagnosing Doc (1989) were partners in headache research @ U of Mich.

What time is your appt.? Maybe the wife & I could meet you for lunch if you would like. I'm going to PM you my ph#, use it if you want.

Your are so sweet! Comin from Lansing. Appt is at 8:30am. My guy there is Dr. Weintraub. Maybe I'll give you a call when I'm finished and see if it's to early for lunch or not. Probably be done about 10am or so. Thanks again for the support! Glad there will be no snow accumulation. Been here all my life and still don't like driving in it. What a baby I know.

We've been chatting on here for years and to finally meet them was wonderful, they are wonderful people and I can and will happily vouch for them. I just wish I was going to be there too!

I can only jump on here each day when I don't have so much as a shadow because of people like Helen. I get laughin so hard I can feel it in my stomache. That little smiley was absolutely hilarious! God I love this place.

Fact is I wish Helen would come here in person and beat me with whatever she wants to. Or hug me to death. I only fear that she won't.

I had the pleasure of talking to Roberta tonight, she told me she would send Broomstick 1 after me if we miss her next appt. Not.

Just to be sure, make sure that O2 mask is giving you pure O2, seal off the other side like I described.

Now if only the beast had the nerve to come see me with more than a shadow, we could fire up the o2 on his butt. Little devil is mad at me for going to the doc and arming myself with rx's and o2. He's off hiding somewhere. Not that I love the visits, just wanna use my ammo against him.

You've already fired some ammo at him. The Pred breaks the cycle for a few. If not you have backup waiting.
