Holy Cow!  That's cold -  isn't it too cold to snow at that temp?

I'd be snuggled up indoors with feet up - good book in hand - and coffee at the ready!

Good Luck to Montana!!!

Forgive this Calif. girl...
but doesn't electricity/telephone lines, water mains, pipes and etc. freeze beyond recognition at these temps.????   Carol said something about coffee and a good book.  Can one even make coffee w/o electricity?  or do you have to have massive generators...or what??

Nah, not quite cold enough for some Montana folks. But he'll probably start closing his windows at night.....

Yeah, it's even "cold" down here in the Banana Belt nowadays--in the teens anyway.

Of course, our "cold" isn't like Potter's Montana cold...   [smiley=bow.gif]

Best,

George

When I tee'd off at the golf course at 8:30am Friday, there were still a few patches of frost on the grass.  By the third hole I was down to a t-shirt (and no, I wasn't playing strip golf).

If you bury them deep enough  ;)  The wires on the pole are just fine  ::)

It's called a purcolator.  You might remember your Mom using one.  You put it on a burner on the stove.  I keep one on hand for emergencies.

Here is a Canadian tradition and just the right temp for doing this! Cheers [smiley=me&mb.gif] Stay warm my friend. :)

South of Buffalo, we're 28 with 2 inches of snow...you on the other hand...a tad chilly Potter. You might consider another layer and hanging over that stove as you perk. All this global warming induced global cooling....who can even keep track?
Snow in Sacramento tomorrow for the first time in over 30 years.

Old man winter has his grips firmly in Porland as we speak.  Sending heat vibes to you in Montana as heat vibes seem to be the only 'green approved' heat source, according to the EPA.

All others are banned.

Pffft.. if you think I put up with winter happily you are gravely mistaken!

I do NOT like cold, I do NOT like dark and I especially REALLY do not like snow! Well that's not strictly true. I like it on Christmas cards. I'm not a complete old crabapple y'know!

I have to be honest though, so far this year it has been pretty mild. I have only had to scrape ice off the car one morning and we're into December. We're two weeks from the longest night of the year, I think that's pretty good going. It's been dreadfully wet though with some real powerful gales too. (Bet we still have a hosepipe ban next summer though!)

Oh and Charlie - just for that you get an extra week of lake effect (now who's laughing?!)  :P

My truck was frozen covered in ice when I went to leave for work and I am in what normally is a very mild climate in the SF bay area CA. We are not used to this hear and I really feel for those that live in this kind of cold every year. In the 20’s all over the bay area this morning, lots of wrecks due to ice, be careful out there if you have to drive today.

And I'm going to be driving across the country and back over the next few weeks in this.    :P

If you don't hear from me again, it was nice knowing all of you. And... No, Mel.  You cannot have all of my stuff.  ;D

Not so bad down here.  Only got to -3 F last night.  It's around 15 now.

There's around 3" of snow here.  Weird, but when I drove up to Garden Valley yesterday to get the pup, there was nothing on the ground up there--usually they get 3 or 4 times as much as we do.

Best,

George

Some of the best advice I ever got was to spend max dollars on your boots and your bed....'cause you are going to spend all day in one, and all night in the other.

Stay warm, Potter! :)

We're supposed to have wet stuff back here as it will be almost 40 tomorrow. I'd rather have a blizzard than freezing rain or an ice storm. Bleaugh
