Title: Moving to the UK...
Post by hypothalamus on Dec 9th, 2009 at 1:28pm
Hi guys,

I'm thinking of moving back to the UK soon partly because of Uni [German authorities won't accept my A-Levels the way they are for letting me onto medical school] and also because I miss my family over there.

I'm now used to the German health system and I know that there are worlds between the German and the English health system. So now my question is: How do I get my cluster-specific treatment when living in England? Can I just make an appointment with my local GP and tell him to prescribe me my Topamax?

I might stay insured in Germany while still studying in England and go back to Germany for checkups because my docs simply know me best. But I will need someone who would be able to help me in case of an emergency.

By the way..I'll be moving to Lowestoft. Anyone from East Anglia on here?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Luv,
Tim

Where would you be going to Uni?

Getting treatment in the UK isn't a problem - you just sometimes need to know HOW to go about it and I can and will help all you need with that.
Getting topomax won't be a problem. Your medical history will come with you so you can carry on with prescriptions. I'd recommend getting an extra months worth of meds before you move back though to cover any cross over period.
