Title: Clusters again after 5 year absence Post by DiscoStu on Dec 9th, 2009 at 2:20pm
Thought I'd kicked them for life, but they're back. After 5 years CH free, got a doosie last night. Felt them coming on for a week or two, thought (hoped) it was a sinus problem.
Anyway, called the neuro, he wouldn't see me because it's been 5 years. He needed a referral from my GP and then it would be months before an appt. Luckily, I got in to my GP and he was able to prescribe an O2 tank and Verapamil. Have there been any major breakthroughs in medicines or treatments for CH in the past 5 years? I haven't been hanging around here lately. |

Just the cluster buster methods of lsd or shrooms or lsa seeds. You can find lots of info in the archives I am sure or google cluster busters for they have there own website and conferences. Many have now found that energy drinks slamed during a hit will abort it and that melatonin at bedtime can help sleep better with fewer hits. Can't think of anything else. Maybe someone else will come along with some more ideas. good luck.

Why not just keep a full tank around? I have been pf for about 1800 days and still look lovingly at that beautiful green monster.

Very sorry to hear they are back, five years is a very nice break though, if you can look at it that way I guess. Myself I would love a five year break about now. ;D

Lovely. One of these days I'm going to have to let my doctors know that they have to get over the idea that they are running a garage and that our warranties has run out. Sorry you are getting hit with this horror after so long. Hold on and get after your docs. Charlie |

Charlie, I gotta hand it to you. You've got a way of summing things up nicely. ;) Sorry to hear you're getting smacked around again, Stu. New stuff that's come up? Consider increasing the O2 flow with a regulator going to at least 25 lpm. Recent experience and research indicates a MUCH higher rate of success with O2 at higher flows. Best wishes, George |
