Title: Stockpiling...or, sometimes I'm SO DUMB....
Post by jon019 on Dec 11th, 2009 at 9:58pm
...I can't even stand MYSELF....

On April 6, 2006 I went chronic....will NEVER forget that date....since then, high cycles, low cycles...but ALWAYS cycles...

Anyway, THAT'S when I began stockpiling my savior med...Zomig NS. After YEARS of fighting the insurance company, with the help of my neuro ("do you stockpile?...you should"...bless her heart), and our insurance broker, AND my own RELENTLESS advocacy for MYSELF...I finally got the amount of meds I needed (18/mo).

Life was good...I always knew I had the silver bullet when I needed it...and I stockpiled 3 months worth. THEN, low cycle for months...I dared to think...MAYBE back to episodic. I can't believe what I'm about to say but it is SADLY true...

I felt SORRY for the med insurance company...they were paying $500/mo for my meds...I didn't really need that much...I STOPPED stockpiling, with the knowledge I could always ramp back up....WRONG!Now that I'm back in a "bitch" cycle...I desperately need those meds again....

ONLY, insurance company had been bought out...my hard fought victory GONE...allowance CUT to 6, copay RAISED (double)...they didn't even bother to laugh in my face...

If you are EVER tempted to feel sorry for insurance co leeches...just remember...it's YOUR blood they are sucking.....learn from my lesson....

STOCKPILE.....STOCKPILE.....STOCKPILE!!!!!!!

Best,

Dumb-ass Jon

Dear Dumbass ;),

Well,  I salute your kind heart- but THEY have deep pockets and formularies.and they are for-profit organizations.
That said, have you done 02 lately? Tried the higher delivery? Asked around for someone who MIGHT have found some of your stockpile you left there on a visit?
I didn't call you dumbass, BTW, my keyboard did..I'm here simply to provide some support........that's my story and I'm stickin to it!
Hope this high cycle hits the road- soonest!

I agree and used to stockpile, stockpile, and stockpile, for a LOT more than that a month.  Never felt sorry knowing everyone of them wended to good cluster use.  The times and insurance have changed for me, too, but managing differently these days.
