Bags or the real meal deal, gift wrapping, with matching bows and the whole nine yards? Personally, I hate gift bags and always wrap each and every present. In fact, I've taken, and used, some commando gift wrapping ideas from Jimbo (he likes to get creative and surprise me).

I wrap based on the recipient. My son hAS ALWAYS DESTROYED anything I wrapped with great care, my daughter, however, always chose the prettiest git to open last! Todd gets gift bags, AND i KEEP THEM ON HAND FOR EMERGENCIES, but I am very specific about individual wrapping paper for each individual, and, with a background as a florist, I love to top everything with a big red bow.....NEVER recycled.....I go through bolts and bolts of red ribbon.
As the kids have matured, and the world is going green, we have amassed a collection of very unique reusable containers, and ,whomever receives one this year is required to refill it and pass it on next year! Our one and only grandson has to go on a hunt for one of his gifts each year, and when he finds it, it is usually unwrapped, ready to play with. However you wrap it, I l just LOVE to get gifts! But theres an amazing feeling that washes over me, when the gift I give someone pleases! Giving, in a bag, or a box or a sheet of comics is the BEST! Cathi :D |

I like to wrap each gift. I don't get too fancy. I buy bags for my hubby though. Otherwise I'd receive my gifts wrapped in plastic grocery bags! I guess that would be okay though.

I don't do any of the wrapping in this house. Bill took that chore over a long time ago. He prefers paper and does some neat decorations on the gifts.
My contribution is to go around and stick the tags on things so he knows who the gift is for before he starts wrapping. With 7 adult kids, their mates, and 10 grandkids, our living room looks like Santa Central right about now!!! I love the look of the pretty parcels all trimmed up. Not a fan of bags at all except in a pinch! Carol |

Mine always has wrapping paper, but he has perfected *commando* wrapping. One year he took a gift certificate and taped it to the underside of a brick and then wrapped the brick. He has been known to put acorns, bolts and any manner of objects in the boxes to *fool* me. I have gotten presents wrapped in paper but taped with duct tape ;D. |

The best present I'm going to get this year isn't going to be wrapped - but will be wrapping me up in a great big hug about 1:30pm EST tomorrow :)
I still think it would be nice if I got a gun though... just SAYIN'..... |

I love to wrap presents and got to work in gift wrap in a large dept. store in college. Over the years I have found gift bags convient but I don't like to use them. I just didn't have the time to wrap. However this Christmas, being on medical leave, I've had all the time in the world. I wrapped each gift one by one with ribbons and bows on each. I still used gift bags but wrapped the gifts that went into them. All of my presents are done! I really enjoyed doing this.
Charlotte Pets ALWAYS get gift wrapped too. It's so fun to watch them tear away the paper. |

I wrap everything too, I don't generally mess with Ribbons and Bows, but last night when I did all the wrapping, Patty did the ribbons and bows.
I get carried away and wrap everything in the stockings too. It's fun and what else would you do with the all the cuttings from the presents? :) Funny thing about gift bags, I rarely buy them (and NEVER for Christmas), but I won't throw them away either. I keep them neat in a box and many of the gifts I receive come in them. So I'm recycling and helping Joe at the same time! I have my shopping done, but realized today I need one more gift card to go with a package for one of our Goddaughters. Tomorrow I take 3 packages to the PO and I'm done! Well that is unless I decide to go out and find more bargains. Joe should just take away the checkbook now, especially before I go out of town this weekend. I've been known to get bored on business trips and look for a mall.... |

Call me cheap. I use our local newspaper (recycle-holic). I snag cute, colorful insta-bows from work to top them. I get funny about it, might wrap all my uncle's gifts in the police report, or for my brother the court report.
I live in small town, so I can find pics of people we all know, and if they are disliked by someone in the family (not meanly), then surprise, you get the mug shot of them on the present. All the kids are in sports, so on.... Happy Holidays.... Angela Edit: Wrapping paper is spendy up here in SE Alaska. We have to have everything shipped up via barge. EVERYTHING! |
