Title: snowy in the uk
Post by Headache Boy uk on Dec 17th, 2009 at 7:50pm
It's got a tad cold . about 3-4 inches of snow so far , should be enough to bring this part of the country to a stand still ;D
sad thing is it probably will.

Better get used to it. If the sun continues to be dead you may see the Thames freeze in your lifetime.

Beautiful stuff over there. Here in ustate, NY State along Lake Erie...way west of Helen at the moment, things aren't very exciting. No more than a few inches so far but chilly. Probably 20/-7 or so. I guess the rest of the east coast has been clobbered though.

It's not the Swiss Alps, but 20" of snow with 20ºF (-6º C) temps in the Washington DC area shuts down everything but the idiot social progressive lying weasels in Congress who are bound and determined to take the US into communism no matter what the voting public says...

That makes for more of a mess than the snow with closed airports, impassable roads and a real sore back from digging out...

These lying weasels are not only content with spending the US into bankruptcy and taxing all of us to pay for their social progressive experiments, they've gone a step further in their corruption...  Now these arrogant sociopathic liberals have let their pet special interest groups and lobbyists write an 11th hour 400 page "Manger's Amendment" just to buy the 2 to 3 Senators with back room deals needed to reach a total of 60 votes to end debate using a "cash for cloture" vote... at 01:00 in the morning."

This egregious legislation, if enacted, will cause as much as a 100% increase in private medical insurance to pay for, among other social agenda items, the holiest sacrament in all liberalism...  abortion...

The fat lady ain't sung yet...

crikeys i guess a bit of snow is the least of your worries but I'm afraid i never did understand us politics I can only just get my head ours apart from the bit where we have a prime-minister that we didn't vote for !

anyhow it's been raining all evening here and now it's starting to freeze again which will be nice in the morning.

look like proper snow out there in DC , we don't get any proper weather in our corner of the UK our annual rain fall is less than Saudi Arabia according to our local council.
I would like to travel some where to experience some proper weather one day, guess I'll have to make do with our few odd day of freak weather for now.
Got my van stuck on a speed bump at work today, oh the irony  ;D

Jay Leno had it right tonight when he said that  the severe weather in Washington shows that hell really does freeze over. START PRINTPAGEMultimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or RegisterEND PRINTPAGE

We have plenty of snow here in Helsinki, Finland, and this morning it was snowing heavily again. And more of the white stuff will be on its way tomorrow!

I really don't understand what snow has to do with a rant about liberalism.  Living here in England where we really do moan a lot - the one thing we would fight to the death to preserve is our health service, something sadly our friends across the pond don't have but maybe one day and due to what you call liberalism may mean free health care at the point of delivery to you all too.  Progressive really means what it says - humanity progressing - together.  Need more of it in the world but maybe a bit less snow.
I hope you pain gets better soon!

Merry Christmas Judi and Nigel,

The stiffness of digging the car out of all the snow has already passed, but the pain of a rogue congress gone off the reservation in a jihad to destroy our way of life here in America has us fighting with the same passion and determination that helped us form the Nation that saved you chaps from a very evil menace...

It would be easy to go on and site some of the inscriptions I read from monuments at the Imperial War Museum Duxford, but that's history and now is the season of giving...

Again, a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy Hew Year to you and yours...

Cheers and take care,

V/R, Batch

It seems in politics , as with most things , something good always comes with something bad or strings . a free health service sounds like a good idea but I guess it depends on what you lose to get it .

This is why I don't get too involved in politics cos at the end of the day they are all lying b****s.

Sorry if I offended any one, it's the last thing I would want to do .

btw the snow in our part of the UK is all but gone now, so I guess it's back to good ol foggy and cold  ;D

wishing you all a happy and pf Christmas,
Nigel
