Title: Article in the L.A Times on C.H. Post by Lenny on Dec 29th, 2009 at 11:45am
I for one am usually very happy when there is a mention of our condition,but...You can be the judge after reading the article.....I have the link in my regular e-mail and i have no idea of how to post it on here.....If one of you that knows how to post the link please give me your e-mail and i will forward it to you.....The reason i am a little upset over this,it was sent to me from my brother who does not understand our condition (all it is is a headache) its probably been 15-20 years since i have discussed c.h. with him or anyone else (people just don't understand) and i have been hearing from him all this time that if you quit smoking they will go away.....And this is what this fucked up paper printed up.....Lenny

My Beast didn't get that memo about leaving when I stopped smoking. He's still here...lurking in the shadows.
Everyone has an agenda....too bad it isn't the truth. |

I actually joined and wrote out a reply, but I guess they either didn't approve of what I wrote or it got eaten by the internet monster.

I dont smoke and I drink cafeine free coke and I am a girl. Go figure! I wonder what my illness is called then? ch. wow. I guess several different neurologists and drs didn't have my diagnosis correct and this dumb jerk knows it all. Irresponsible journalism.

Unfortunately the idiots of this world find ways to show their ingnorance. Why is there no name of the person quoted at the start of the article?? Are they afraid??
I say a call to arms (so to speak) to get the publisher to retract these lies. We all know that smoking is not a good thing, but if it were the cause of CH, many of us would be cured that aren't. The persons resonsible for this article should be guilty of a crime against us. Don |

I was just now able to pull it up. Couldn't do it at work. The person responsible for the extract Carolyn put up was someone responding to the article, and was very obviously misinformed and ignorent. Those who wrote the article were not much better, but not to the same point as Barry whoever.
They do need to be educated though if they are going to pass out medical information. Malpractice? Jerry |

Wellll!!!!! Barry Spencer seems to be an authority on everything... Bless his heart!! He's got it all figured out hasn't he?
Ok, my BP is up for the day!! Think I'll call my neuro and tell him he just doesn't know what the hell he's been talking about all these years... He should consult Barry.... BD :-* |

Looks like Gena gave them a good scolding in the comment section. ;D
They say there is no bad publicity. Maybe someone reading that extremely inaccurate article will find their way here and get the real scoop on this condition and the latest treatments available. |

The title of the article:
Smoking linked to cluster headaches By inserting the word "may", they are "linked" to make sentences. ;) Quote:
Also though, from his site: Quote:
Clusters were clearly stated to be a "rapid onset of severe caffeine withdrawal headache" which contradicts his requirement for a caffeine withdrawal headache. Adding the use of "may" a couple times is his "smoking" gun to reverse engineer the missing "link" for clusters, conceiving the creature: "Smoking linked to cluster headaches" Bullwinkle used say to Rocky, "Watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat. Presto!" but it would be a lion or rhino, then responding, "I think it's time to get a new hat." This guy is trying a new hat and pulled a rabbit out, but it's invisible. |
