One is never helpless when they fight back. Venting is fighting back. So is O2.  ;)

right there with you brother... 2 plus weeks into my first cycle in 2 years!! Just started new job, yesterday I had to work 11 hours, selling, after the night before getting rocked with maybe the worst K10 ever (in 15 yrs?) then up all night(not one wink) from meds?

yeah, holding on for the end of the cycle.

For me, I'm so grateful for the meds that I'm now getting, for many years (70s early 80s) they were giving me pain pills which did nothing, I'd just suffer 6/8 killer hits per day. I just stopped life period when in cycle. Now (so far this cycle) almost completely hit free (1 slips through occasionally) and for the most part I'm living life normally.

Let's both hang in there

O2 O2 O2  High flow with the right mask... (Check the ch.com store for the right mask and read the O2 tag on the left - it's yellowed).  It works for about 70% of us). I use the demand valve, but it's rather expensive (but it works GREAT!)

Hope the cycle is short and you're PF soon (my cycle started in 97, but I'm hoping any day now it's over -- ok, it COULD happen! ;)  I'm optimistic!)

Hang in there - we've all been where you are...

Always when cycle hits, I go on prednisone taper. Immediately all but stops hits!! (Check pposts for side effects) As the taper wears down they typically start to come back but I get a weeks relief at least!!

Now I'm taking Caffergote, seems to be working great too!!!

Saxman,
Most people take predison to break the cycle and get instant relief while another prevanative medicine such as verapamil or lithium or topamax started at the same time can have a chance to kick in a fight for you when the predison is done working.  Try oxygen it is a life savor and you can have unlimited use of it and it wont effect your body like cafargot will.  Talk to your neuro or dr about a plan to protect you.  You dont need to suffer.
