I know i haven't posted in a while, and I'm sorry for that, but I know y'all are the best bunch of people on the planet, so I have a big favor for y'all... 

My step-grandson, Samuel, needs a lot of hope and prayers right now.  He was born on 12/30/2009, two months early, and has had problems from the start...

He had a hole in his lung, which is getting better, but they screwed up the chest tube at the hospital he was born at, so his lung collapsed until they were able to fix it at UK...

He's had problems urinating, and they believed his kidneys were underdeveloped, but this morning, the specialist did an ultrasound, and said he didn't have any kidneys at all, even though their was a little urine in his catheter.  Yesterday, they said if he didn't have functioning kidneys, they'd be able to put him on dialysis, and hope that would help until he could be ready for a transplant, but now today, they're saying there is nothing they can do but make him comfortable.

The little kids a fighter, but it just seems like the hospital is giving up on him, so he needs as much help as he can get.  I know a lot of you who are on my Facebook and MySpace are already sending vibes and prayers, and for that, we are all thankful, but I think the little guy is going to need even more, so I figured I'd beg y'all here to please give all the vibes and prayers that you can spare.  He's just a tiny little thing, fighting as hard as he can...

His identical twin brother, Lucas, is still doing good.  The parents are trying to get him, and the mom, transferred to UK, so that they'll all be together...

The hospital has given up on Baby Samuel... They're just making him comfortable and not trying to prolong things.  They're not expecting him to survive much longer.  Tammy and I still have hope that he'll prove them all wrong, but if the docs aren't going to do anything, it's starting to look like we need a miracle...

Baby Samuel is being transferred to Cincinnati Children's Hospital in the morning.  Cincinnati Children's is one of the best children's hospitals in the nation.  They just need to get the paperwork squared away.  Baby Samuel might finally get the care he's been needing... :) :) :)

They finally tested the fluid in Baby Samuel's bladder, and found that it was urine!!!  :) :) :) Now, as soon as the weather breaks, they'll be flying him to Cinci Children's to see what they can do.  Hopefully the snow will stop soon...

Still praying!  Also asked my Sunday School class to pray, and we prayed for him together, and will continue to do so.  I've seen God do some miraculous things, and look for Him to do it again.

This morning, when the weather cleared, UK chose to start dialysis on Baby Samuel, so he's being prepped for sugery... Once he is stablized after surgery, they'll be flying him to Cinci...  Fingers crossed for the little guy.  220 hours and fighting...

Baby Samuel's dialysis port started to leak, so they took him off dialysis temporarily to give it time to heal, and hopefully stop leaking.  As of today, it's still leaking, but getting better.  His numbers are still good, so they're still delaying further dialysis for now.

Baby Lucas has had a couple of episodes to where he's forgotten to breathe, but from what I've read, that can be common in preemies, so it shouldn't be anything to worry about too much.

They're both getting bigger, gaining weight, and still doing good otherwise.  Thank y'all for all your thoughts and prayers.

I know eh??  When I read the carepages update today and saw it was day 18 I was doing the same thing Cathi - WOW - just WOW!

So much for the docs and 'there's nothing we can do'!  The hell there is nothing we can do!!!  There is nothing we CAN'T do when we come together and have such a strong little fella to cheer on!   Baby Samuel made it real easy for us - he is such a fighter it just amazes me!!  What an incredible set of twins they have!! 

It will be soooooo cool to see the pics from that 10th b'day party!!

Keep fightin little man!!  Lucas, now you listen up, there will be no more of that forgetting to breathe stuff!!  The two of you just keep on keepin on, and we'll be here for ya the entire time!
