Title: H1n1 flu vaccianation and ch - your experiences?
Post by sandie99 on Jan 22nd, 2010 at 8:07am
I got mine this Wednesday. I'm curious, if some of you have had it as well and what happened with ch?

I got persistant, but mild shadows all through Wednesday after the vaccination, but no hits. (The last time I got hit was January 14th. I had shadows on last Friday and Monday, nothing prior the vaccination.)

Otherwise, I've been more tired than usual, had chills, little bit of fever and muscle pain.

PF days to all,
Sanna

Sanna,

Did you receive the injection or the nasal spray?

I received mine @ my doctor's office the Tuesday before LouieCon (went for something different)... I was in cycle at the time of the injection and continue to be so...

I was advised by my Doctor that it would take two weeks before it started to take effect... So we'll see what happen...

Peace & Blessings

I'm too lazy to get flu shots although a couple of times, my doctor surprised be and jabbed me almost before I knew it. Good thing I wasn't allergic.

So far as I know, no vaccination has had an effect on my ch....of course they haven't been around for awhle......Gotta wonder.

Your Doc vaccinated you without your consent?  :o

I didn't have a lot of time to think about it is all. Weirdly, a few years ago, it was my neurologist that came into the room with a full hypodermic saying that he'd like to give me a free flu shot. It turns out that every doc in town had tons of it and wanted to get rid of it. If I remember, it was a tough strain that just about the whole town contracted.

I guess they thought we'd be happy to be stabbed. I said "sure" not really thinking it over.  :o

Who knows? Maybe it worked. Pretty strange though.

Jeannie, I got the injection. We did not get the nasal spray option at all.

I hate injections and I had my doubts about it. Back in here it has been quite difficult to find enough information about the pros and cons of the vaccination. I'm not entirely sure if I did the right thing.

I'm having bit more of side effects from the vaccination, more about that later when I know more about it, maybe later this week.

I'm glad to hear that ch-wise we've been fine. :)

Sanna, have you reported the side effects to your doctor?  If not, I suggest you do so.  Not trying to tell you what to do, but they (physicians, pharmaceutical companies) need to know.

Sorry you're having to deal with this crap!

I can't comment on the shot but I probably had H1N1.

It was the first illness I had that made CH worse. It took imitrex and OČ to stop the attacks that cam every 2 hours until I was better, and that took a record 3 days for me.

Yes I have, Mel. :)

I went to inform her as soon as possible after I noticed the side effects myself. She told me that we need to keep an eye on what happends next and I'm going to see her again on Thursday morning for a check-up. I'll be a lot wiser then.

Had both H1N1 and seasonal flu shots back in November.  No issues.

According to the neuro-immune theory of cluster headaches (from a group of Italian researchers), a vaccine might activate the immune system and possibly affect clusters that way.  According to that theory (and Paul's experience), getting infected with a virus would have similar effects (probably worse).

I got the seasonal flu shot in November, no side effects. I would rather expose my  immune system to a tiny amount of killed virus than have a full blown viral infection run amok through my body - the side effects of vaccines are real but relatively infrequent and mild compared to what happens when someone gets the flu.

According to the nurse, the side effect is from the vaccination has calmed down and it should be fine. But, just in case, she wants me to see a doctor next week.

Well, we'll see about that.
