Title: Gripe of the day Post by NancyB on Jan 27th, 2010 at 5:05pm
Went to a restaurant with a friend today and there is this poor woman sitting on the floor so we ask her what happened. Seems she tripped on the stairs on her way in,fell over and got caught up in a bar stool on her way down. Thinks she's broken her arm. Now the manager of the place is with her and seems to know her, that's all fine. The host on the other hand... when asked to get some news papers or magazines to stabilize her arm asks if we're lawyers and then says it's none of his concern if she's hurt. I ask you, if it's not his business to help her shouldn't it be his business to at least be compassionate? No wonder the world is in the trouble it's in.

I agree...but with the litigious nature of people today.....well....
To be humanly compassionate is one thing, but to possibly cross the line into legal liability is quite another. I had a neighbor threaten to sue me once when their 6 year old skinned her knee, and ran home from her friends house and the Mom wasn't home and the door was locked. I cleaned up the wound and bandaged it. She didn't in th end, but she sure was mad that I "interfered". |

The manager and any restaurant patron that will help break the host's arm as you throw him out the door gets a free dinner.
What a world. Charlie |
