Title: New to the board:) Question about Oxygen Post by ordiefam on Feb 1st, 2010 at 4:22pm
Hi all-
I have just been dx with cluster headaches as well as occiptical migraines. I am using oxygen with a mask, 15 ml for 15 - 20 minutes. I am noticing when I am done, my headache is dulled but my head is spinning and I feel out of it. Is that due to the pure Oxygen that brain is getting?:) I have learned alot on this board already! Thank you! |

Hoping the mask you're using is a Non Re Breather as that's a critical component to making it work!
The only time oxygen gets my head spinning is when I hyperventilate on it because I'm getting slammed. Otherwise I don't get much of an effect off it....except of course the CH is gone! Glad you got 02, on cycle it's my very bestest buddy! Joe |

I am not sure what it is called, but it goes over my face and mout and has a little bag on it. Is that the good kind? Thanks!

Is there a little circle pattern of holes on each side with a diaphragm to cover the holes when you inhale?

Then you should be good to go. Crank it up to 15 liters per minute, make sure you have a good seal around your nose and mouth, and try to breathe in and out as quickly as the bag will allow. Also, if there's an elastic strap attached, just cut it off of there. You'll want to hold it tight against your face with your hand.
