Hi all... anybody used and/or had any luck to report with butterbur? Somebody I love is bugging the heck out of me to buy it and of course I would check it out here FIRST.

It's not anything people here talk about. When I read about it, seems like a holistic treatment for Migraines.
If you ask me I'd say it's a waste of money, like accupuncture or chiropractic. More like snake oil, very little value as a CH treatment. But that's me. Don |

"Fraid I don't know anything about it.
I'm trying not to be so quick to dismiss the idea of herbs for CH, since seeing several people on here report good results with Kudzu. And of course there are other medicinal plants such as psilocybin that have undeniable (IMO) CH fighting properties. If you do try it, please report back with your impressions, and please avoid any heart attacks on a bun that Brew offers up, otherwise known as butterburgers. :D |

The Butterburger is not to be avoided. It is a force to be reckoned with. ;D |

Yep - Living longer is highly overrated. All those extra years get tacked on at the end. |

Now if they could get added somewhere there in the middle....you know, in the 40's...might not be so over rated after all...but alas..... >:( |

I use butterbur on a regular basis for my Migraines - it does Nothing for my CH... just my experience. It works better for me than any meds for migraine - I stop taking it and they come back with a vengeance! It was suggested by a headache specialist, and Goadsby even admits that there has been admitted success for migraine with butterbur (he is not one who works much with alternatives in my experience...) Thought I'd share anyway, Val |

I only know of one other person who tried butterbur for clusters (Lizzie). She didn't report much success if I recall correctly, but she didn't get much relief from anything else, either ... and she tried quite a bit: most of the patent pharmaceuticals, most of the alternatives, surgery.
