Hey all!
Heard a lot of chatter about smoking affecting the CH. Just wondered if anyone connected the smokeless as well!

I am an ex smokeless tobacco user........it was part of the whole agreeing to marry me almost 28 years ago... my wintergreen skoal had to go! :'(

As far as smoking affecting CH, there hasn't been any conclusive evidence here. The majority of the CH'ers who go to conventions smoke. I don't and it has often made me wonder if I really have CH since I don't smoke! ;)

Several members have the board have stopped smoking and have seen no beneficial effect on their CH. I think there are still a lot of doctors who think everything from CH to acne can be cured if you just quit smoking.

Joe, Did you suffer w/CH when you chewed? How did you quit?

I was still in the "infant" stages of CH back then. I chewed through high school until about age 21. My cycles were not that bad during that period, I doubt any attack ever went above a 7. It wasn't until they got really bad in my mid 20's I finally sought medical help and was diagnosed. (at the insistence of my young bride who was convinced I had a brain tumor!) It wasn't until after I was diagnosed we started to piece together how cyclic my "really bad headaches" were during the early years.

And I just quit cold turkey. almost 30 years later my mouth still waters when someone goes by sucking on a wintergreen Certs!
