Title: Society's End

CBS, NBC, ABC had for the lead story: Tiger Woods. Even switching to PBS didn't work.

Walter Cronkite is rolling in his grave.

Today being the 19th, I wonder if it had significance to the number of "holes" he played...

Bad joke, but you KNOW I had to do it.

On the same note.......beware a big internet scam involving Tiger.

I sent away for his new book, Tigers favorite 9 holes.......it's a book about GOLF! Just trying to save all my friends from getting ripped off. ;D.......I'll leave now :-[...

Hubby walked in the room cursing about the Tiger story being the lead in the "Big News" of the night.  I told him to turn the channel, stop watching the news and that he was no longer alowed to make fun of me for yelling and cursing at the TV when the news is on.  I stopped watching the news and I am now a happier person.  On the internet, you can click on what you want to read and ignore the bullshit.

Even better was the response from the porn star following Tiger's statement!

The man needs to set things straight with his family, period.

Regardless of the media hoopla, he doesn’t owe the world an explanation.  There are more important things for the media and the public to focus on but Soap Opera journalism is easy and gets ratings.

It's like Ed Murrow said in the 50s...If we aren't careful TV will become a distraction from the real world.  :o

"Society's End" is like "Land's End" ... and I don't mean the clothing company ...

Reminds me of the story about Gandhi traveling across India during the protests, and when he gets off a new train, a reporter asks him what he thinks of civilization. He responded "that would be nice."
