We aint talking about (Mirage) then Charlie
Oh i do crave the ciggy sticks at times,
Not so cool... sticking a patch to the neck of your guitar.
Come to think about it, we should keep the ciggies just for sticking on your 6th string and waving in a haze of youthfull ignorance.
Bulging satin purple hipsters and .......
Good god!!! maybe i should forget.

The Marlboro Man was actually portrayed by four different actors:

Quote:
Three men who appeared in Marlboro advertisements - Wayne McLaren, David McLean and Dick Hammer - died of lung cancer, thus earning Marlboro cigarettes, specifically Marlboro Reds, the nickname "Cowboy killers". McLaren testified in favor of anti-smoking legislation at the age of 51. During the time of McLaren's anti-smoking activism, Philip Morris denied that McLaren ever appeared in a Marlboro ad, a position it later amended to maintaining that while he did appear in ads, he was not the Marlboro Man. McLaren died before his 52nd birthday in 1992.

Quote:
The actor and model Christian Haren portrayed the Marlboro Man in the early 1960s and later became active in AIDS prevention education.

Christian Haren (February 1, 1935, San Bernardino County, California – February 27, 1996, San Francisco, California) was an actor, model and community activist.

He was born and attended school and colleges in San Bernardino, California. In the 1950s he served in the Army.

In the 1960s Haren received a studio contract from MGM and starred in Vincente Minnelli's Bells Are Ringing, Otto Preminger's In Harm's Way, and Billy Rose's Jumbo. He starred on Broadway in the Bertolt Brecht play The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui, produced by Tony Richardson.

He is best remembered for playing the role of the Marlboro Man in print advertisements in the early 1960s.

Haren was openly gay and the proprietor of the popular Palm Springs gay bar CC Construction Co. In 1985 he was diagnosed with AIDS and became active in AIDS prevention education. He started "The Wedge", a "safe sex" AIDS prevention organization for teens in San Francisco.

He died in San Francisco in 1996 from complications of AIDS, age 61.

His life was the subject of the 1998 documentary short Castro Cowboy.
