Title: Heart pumping sound in ear Post by Plakatboy on Feb 23rd, 2010 at 2:57am
Hi all,
is it normal to hear the beating sound of your heart when excercising? i have been able to hear sounds of veins pumping blood in the right ear for as long as i can remember. Never paid any attention to it. Incidently, the right side is where the headaches occur. Any info will be appreciated. |

I don't but sounds like you have tinitus.
Such occurance happens when some 'membrane' does not filter noises of your body, since it is not normal hearing your heart beats that loudly or veins pumping blood as you described. But maybe more folks have input into this subject. |

When you are exercising, it is not unusual to feel your heart pounding. There are lots of conditions that might cause you to hear your heart when you exercise - some are perfectly harmless, others might be linked to a problem or potential problem. For example, high blood pressure could do that, can be treated, but could cause a problem if not treated. This is something for a doctor.

Hi all,
thanks for the feedback. The sound i hear in my ear seems to be from a vein in that area pulsating. It comes when i'm exercising or doing something strenous. Last for 10 secs and disappear. Only to be heard again later if i continue to exercise. Always thought it was normal until i started talking to others and realise they don't have such symptoms. |
