My little niece graciously asked me to attend grandparents day with her this Friday at her 1st grade class.
I'm her uncle but I dont think they'll be checking IDs. |

Alas, this is not so far fetched. I have friends younger than I who are now grandparents, several who have grandkids that are approaching 10 years old.
There but for the grace of God go I. Enjoy your time pretending, Don. |

No laptops or cell phones in class, so if the teacher call on you and it gets tough, we can't help you. Good thing you'll be with your niece. ;) Sounds fun, nice time! Kids can be impressive, you might end up thinking about teaching first grade afterwards. |

I would do okay with the math - it's the fingerpaints that still terrify me to this day. And I'm still reeling from the taste of paste. That which has been tasted cannot be untasted. |

You'll be ok Don -- just act your normal gumpy self... :-*

Dude's been there, listen to Brew, Don. Don't eat any paste.

I 've got the grumpy part covered.
My fear is they will have a buffet made of paste and disguised as food. |

Don,
I had a walker that was my Mom's, donated it to Hospice, otherwise, it would have been yours. You are gonna have a blast! First graders are so inquisitive - read nosy. They will probably ask you a zillion questions. Remember, answer politely and eat the paste lunch no matter what. Have fun and take pictures to share with us!!!! Sandy |

Shirt tucked in? Socks match? Both shoes tied? Ok, little man... now go and play nice.. make us proud.. :-* :-* |

Pin your kindergarten diploma to your shirt, could be requested for a little close examining. Just some small doubt to dispell maybe, or more of a huge disbelief.

IT WAS A SET UP!
Soon as I stepped off the bus 6 little patrol leaders took me to the ground and whacked me with popsicle sticks. Something about an unresolved "tack on a teachers seat" issue back in 1962. Now I've got dentention till the year 2020. |

They confiscated it and raffled it off for a door prize. |

Seriously.
There had to be over 500 people there supporting the kids. Literally bus loads of people going to an elementary school. Down home America. Thats what it supposed to be all about. |
