Anyone feel home bound? I am afraid to leave the house because of my C/H. I make plans, and then BOOM a C/H. I've tried going out with meds., but then the meds make me groggy and it isn't safe to drive. Friends don't ask me out anymore because I usually get sick when I'm out with them. My partner of 7 years wants to go see Avitar, but isn't sure I should go, the movie is 3 hours long, I'm not even sure if I can make it through. :-(

Isn't it horrible how this beast tries to control us?
I only get my CH at night so I'm usually exhausted during the day but pain free. I dont know if I would risk a 3 hour movie in a dark theater though. I do find that staying active keeps mine at bay. If I didnt need to sleep daily, I would be in good shape.

Thank you for the reply. Mine occur in the afternoon and during the night, always tired. I do try to get to the gym 3 times a week, I always feel better after a workout.

Are you working with a good doc to find an effective preventive med?

Can you tell us what meds you're taking that would make you groggy?  The abortives and most of the preventatives we take don't have that side-effect.  You may try talking your Dr. into prescribing something other than what you've been taking. 

Avatar is an awesome movie.  I'd hate for you to miss it.  :-/

Everyone is different here, I get that.. I still remember one evening, right before a national quailifer i was getting hammered. Wifey told me maybe i should let my asst handle the game.. no chance!!

About 20min before the 1st pitch and BAM!! i was hit with a kip 9. I spent one hour in the restroom taking my beatdown.. When it was over we were losing 3-0 in the 3rd inning. We lost that game 6-1. We just couldnt hit that day so we lost to a better team.

But i did not lose to CLUSTER HEADACHES..

It would be nice if one of the triptan abortives out there such as imitrex inhaler worked for you, so you could know that if an attack hit during Avatar you could just whip that inhaler out, do the little tooty McSniff on it, and show the CH beast who's boss for the rest of the movie.  8-)

Or, don't f***ing stop to rest till you've found something effective against your f***ing CH!! You most definitely have NOT exhausted the resources available to you. Get off your ass and get to it!

Wow! As to the 1st part of your question, look under the green, squiggly thing. I might be right across the street from you!

2nd part, all of my posts on this and the ClusterBuster forum relate to my son, Michael. If you read them you'll find that we have had what I believe to be extraordinary success with clusterbusting, as have many others. I'm not suggesting that approach unless all others have been explored, however. Please tell me QnHeartMM, does it really seem to you that rascleo, who whines because his meds won't allow him trips to the gym for workouts more than tri-weekly and worries that he might not be able to "make it" through Avatar, has really exhausted all of his options?

As I went into the Theater to see Avatar I was feeling a little twinge of the cluster knocking.  Took a caffeine pill (200mg) had a very small kipper for 20 minutes or so and enjoyed the rest of the movie.  Went home and took my 3rd and final clusterbuster dose that knocked the cycle out for good. 

I use it as my first resort because of all the crazy stuff I read about the heavy duty pharmacueticals.  I am a firm believer in "self help" when needed. 

As always I am not telling people what to do, I just want to make sure that people know there are alternatives once properly diagnosed. blah blah blah

So yes, Rascleo, I do feel homebound sometimes and it kind of sucks.  Depends on how bad the cycle is, chronic would suck worse.  I am hoping through this and the Busting website we are all getting our meds and doses dialed in so we can function like normal again.  Thanks to all the people helping out and giving their 2 cents!
