Anniversary in law enforcement to the Sarge. What a week! 30th anniversary today, 50th birthday tomorrow, last day of working Tuesday. Nice how the days all aligned so well.

Happy 50th birthday, and happy anniversary as well.  Wow, doing that many years in law enforcement is a challenge.  My father in law was a cop for 25, so I can appreciate your dedication.

How about this one? This is when he was a Marshal - that's where it all began!

Edited to add: Oh and yes, Marc, he has spent all 30 years in San Diego. 20 as a Deputy Marshal, and then they were merged with the Sheriff's dept so he became a deputy Sheriff. A few years ago he was promoted to Sergeant.

His party was a great time, about 150 of his former co-workers showed up. The Under-Sheriff presented him with his badge etc and gave a summary presentation of his career. Then his brother, the Chief of Police in a nearby town roasted him...with a talk... "Living in the shadow of my brother". Pretty entertaining. After a few more roasts, our daugthers ended the presentations with a very heart-felt talk about their dad.

Aw - wish I could have been there.  Did they run his COPS video?

Not only did they show it, they presented him with a package of cookies (since he was known to have "lost his cookies" during that incident).

They also played the dispatch radio call of the tree incident and presented him with a placque that has a piece of the tree that crushed his truck that night.

Funny stuff. It looks like a great time you guys had. I am glad.
