Title: Spiderman and cluster headaches... Post by Karla on Apr 1st, 2010 at 3:31pm
In this months issue of the Amazing Spiderman there is a mention of cluster headaches. Issue 627. Spiderman has an intense headache which he describes as a stabbing pain all of a sudden right between the eyes. His friend Carlie Cooper says OUCH! Sounds like a cluster headache to me. Then goes on to say that her father used to get cluster headaches and she knows how bad they are. So she allows him to bow out of a dinner date.
I thought this was worth at least an honorable mention. And yes if you are wondering I am still at 43 an avid comic book collector and reader and so is my husband. It is what we do for fun. |

How absolutely COOL!!!!! I love it.
Hey, any mention of CH in whatever media is a good mention of CH. And, Karla, comic books provide marvelous release, relaxation, and fun. Enjoy! Sandy |

So are you the ones that paid 1.5 million for Action # 1 the other day? It was that issue, I think. Yikes Charlie |

Charlie, that 1.5 million was paid for the first issue ever of superman. It was released in the 1920's originally. We have boxes of comics sleaved up but only two that are of any real value. One where Captain America is shot and killed and the other where Spiderman reveals his true identity to the world.

This really is pretty fascinating to me as my 2 year old has been obsessed with spider-man since he was about 6 months old. I think I might have to try and get a copy of that one for sentimental purposes or something like that. Trevor has been really great for me with my HA's, especially since he's never seen me in pain, especially this kind of pain. I have taken special precautions to use relaxation so I'm not yelling, screaming throwing and hitting things when he is around. And, in return, he is very sweet and knows right away when I have one and gets pretty quiet and wad walks over to me as I am curled up in my little ball in the floor, and very gently rubs my head and neck and says, "You have a heckache daddy? It's ok! I lub you!" Little things like that make me realize why I try so hard daily to defeat this monster. My son and his mother are my life and I don't know if I could ever be happier with my life 8-) than I am now.(Wait, I guess I could have them without the HA's)LOL!

Cool - I guess he gets the title of world's most famous clusterhead!
So what was that 'non-fireworks' explosion that may be the cause of his pain? Trigeminal resonance cluster bomb? I smell Doc Oc! |

At age 58, I am also an avid comic reader and collector, although I pretty much read and collect back issues of Marvel. I though the continuing arcs over Marvel's various series was tiresome so I decided to focus on the oldies but goodies. The last "current" series I attempted to collect was the Civil War. And since you mentioned it, my most prized possession is a copy of Silver Surfer #1 in NM condition. Nuff Said! wimsey1
