Title: Went out today~pics
Post by deltadarlin on Apr 3rd, 2010 at 10:36pm
to see what I could find.

We've had some major flooding.  These are taken at a place called the beanfield (I have no idea why).  The water has receded quite a bit, but at one time, was at least under 7-10 feet of water.

You can see where the vegetation is dead and *bleached*.

On down the road a bit.

Wisteria gone wild (and this is the very reason I won't have the shit in my yard).

It's in the top of a 60 foot pine tree

These are taken at Lake Drain (where D'Arbonne Lake drains into D'Arbonne Bayou).  This was also under about 6-10 feet of water.  In fact, there is still water across the road  (it flooded last October and it's still going down).

This is a graveyard back off in the middle of nowhere.  Drove by it, turned around and came back.  Several old graves, including Confederate War veterans. And a few others that caught my attention.

Major flooding, I guess....some of the 'bleaching' looks rough.

Can't blame you for not wanting Wisteria....that stuff is pretty by more like a flowering weed.

Thanks, Darlin...always enjoy the pictures.

"This man had two wives, neither of which date of birth or date of death is known."

At least he didn't have to worry about calling his second wife be the wrong name. ;)

Yep, I like to walk old graveyards too. I have a good sized library of headstone images.

Thanks for putting these up for us to see Carolyn. As I have said before, your pictures really make me want to do some exploring down your way. It's probably the area of the U.S. I have spent the least time and it has sooooo much to see.

Apparently I am not the only one then who loves old old graveyards.  Whew!!!!!

my husband thinks I'm crazy.  :-/

I love the flowers of wisteria, but they sure do bring the wasps & bees.  The way that  Wisteria is climbing and taking over,  it reminds me of Kudzu, the scourge of the South.
