We're ok. MAN OH MAN did we feel it though. Even the tea cups rattled. But no damage here (San Diego).

Lets hope it's a fun post also but experiencing a small earth quake and to see an erupting volcano are definitely on my bucket list... :)

No disrespect to anyone who may have had  damage in Baja..but only another Californian could appreciate the humor and agree with the "Way cool" title of your thread.

Mosaicwench once said tornados, biting ice storms are o.k. but the ground moving beneath her feet would be a reason to move.   LMAO!

As we speak their door is propped open....I guess just in case we get another tremblor!!!!!!!!! ;D ;D I don't care who you are...that thar is funny!

Just stay safe....and keep us posted.   I have to agree with Pat.  The earth shaking under my feet isn't my idea of fun times.

I always loved it when we had a quake when folks were visiting from somewhere East. They didn't sleep well for days afterward. They actually thought that tornadoes, hurricanes and blizzards were preferable to a 30 second shaker once every so often.

Go figure........

I can handle blizzards, sub zero temps for extended periods, tornadoes, stuff like that; go ahead, throw it all at me.  But the ground beneath my feet must never move.

I cannot imagine how you live with it.

We get a little shaker now and then.  Haven't had a good one since about 1980, however.

'Course if the supervolcano under Yellowstone ever goes off (again)....

I'm not sorry that I've never had the experience of a quake...nor a tornado for that matter. I do hope you're all right as every time I see the "breaking" news....sorry....on tv it seems stronger.

I'd probably head for the hills....all we have are hills..... START PRINTPAGEMultimedia File Viewing and Clickable Links are available for Registered Members only!!  You need to Login or RegisterEND PRINTPAGE

Funny. Been feelin' quakes here in San Diego for almost 64 years. The one today was one of the most powerful I can remember - and even today, my 1st instinct wasn't to run, it was to support the TV! We were laughing. It was fun!

Well come on, they're vulnerable in that display - and they WERE rattling!  Of course if they had started to fall I would have been looking like an octopus rescuing them. God help anyone that might have been in the way!

A 7.2 'rolling EQ...now THAT's worth your attention! These lil nitty Oregon tremblers, in around 3-4.......not worth a teacup breaking even!
I once had an ironing board walk to the other side of the room, then come back!  I've seen  my swimming pool heave water out the LEFT side of the pool, settle, then dump out the RIGHT side of the pool....we were down by then about 4feet of water!
Know what, though? It was over in less than 2 mins, noone had to be lashed to a palm tree, nothing was picked up and flung into another county...okok...we lost a few houses, chimneys, cars, windows, stuff like that.........but, there was no deadly mold forming after the floodwaters receded.......
I miss EQs.......I know them well, and NEVER, EVER had any real repercussions from an EQ....tornadoes, hurricanes, flooding, scare the beejeebers out of me.wildfires petrify me with fear me........but a lil earth movement?? I've been through too many, unscathed...and the buildings in CA are all retrofitted.....skyscrapers sway for a reason.......thats better than snapping!
Umm, qualifying all of that, an EQ in an overcrowded 3 world country>??? THAT would scare me!

Glad your pretty teacups are safe, Christy!

In the event new Madrid goes off here in the St Louis area:

While the walls are caving in and the floor & ceiling is buckling, I'll be frantically scurrying to get my guitars into their cases and off of the stands - STARTING with my JACKSON!!!

First things first ya know.  :D

Obviously my family would come first.

But my StingRay would be nanoseconds behind. ;)

Never been in an earthquake - but have had three very near misses with tornadoes in my life.

I'll take the ground moving beneath my feet I think!

Don't over fertilize and have those little 2 cent stamps in case of a postage increase.

I thought you've been posting all along from Boston's quarantined banana belt.  Whoa.
