Oh for the love of God...I had no idea that they had branched out  spreading their hate.  Up til now I thought it was just military funerals.

I don't know if America will ever be able to stop these people.  They are a congregation of about 75.  Most of whom are related.  I've seen children at their protests that they are raising to be as hateful as the are.  The top leader and his daughter and probably a few others, are attorneys, so they know their rights and limitations. 

     I pray for those poor families. 

God - now we need the Patriot Guard for EVERY funeral rather than just military funerals.  They are truly nuts.

These bottom feeders depend on our "too much information" media.

Where are all of those "militias" when they might be needed?

Maybe we need to get a few thousand angy coal miners, Patriot Guard and retired military to set up a peaceful demonstration outside of their church?  As long as you aren't prohibiting them from worshiping (geez, sorry you can't hear over rumble of a couple hundred Harley engines)  and not harrassing them, you aren't breaking the law.

I think it would be a bit unnerving to leave Sunday worship service and find oneself surrounded by a couple of thousand people who didn't say one word, just turned their backs as they went by.

far as i can tell these peoples logic is anybody the dies is on gods shit list. some of your most heroic people that have died in the line of duty have died because god hates them. coal miners, police officers, fallen solders. i've even heard them refer to 9/11 rescue workers that died and all that were involved.  [smiley=confused.gif]

maybe when these picketers start to expire we could hold up signs that say "god hate hate mongers"

It's hard keeping up with the latest Kansas lunatic exports. (Sorry but something is in the water out there....and Baptists are really "into" the stuff)

Surely you're not saying that all Baptists are like the Westboro group?  They aren't quite that bad and most of the ones that I know are outraged by this groups' behavior.

I always knew the Baptists as the ones who didn't drink or dance - in front of each other.

These people are NOT a part of what you and I call the Baptist church.  They are a fanatical fringe and the Baptist church has repeatedly tried to explain to the media that they are in no way affliated with them and in no way condone what they are doing.  They are just as outraged as we are, by this groups behavior.

Yes, the Westboro clan is a small cult. Their behavior reflects only on its members, not others who may have the word 'baptist' in their denomination name.

Not at all. Lots of friends......even my neurologist is involved with the church.

We have our share of loonies (not Baptists that I know of) and the book: "What's The Matter With Kansas?" came to mind.
