Ruh-roh. Netenyahu canceled his visit to the nuke summit. Tomorrow's the new moon (better odds for air strikes when your enemy can't see you at night). Looks like something's up in the Middle East.

I realize that many people disagree with me, but I'm a big fan of his and I am really upset at how rudely he was treated at the White House - and I'm not even Jewish!

I would not want to be on the other end of the barrel from a pissed off Benjamin Netanyahu wielding a weapon in defense of his country.

There is no doubt in my mind that Israel can and will defend herself to any degree required to survive. They are certainly not yet at that point, but the results won't be pretty if they are left to defend themselves.

It would behoove that rest of the world community to stay proactively involved. We definitely don't need a bunch of new glass produced from the local sand.

Methinks the Prime Minister has come to the realization that a) Israel needs to act rather quickly, and b) they will have to go it alone. They won't get any help from the current administration.

Prayers for the people of Israel.

If they are pushed too far, their enemies will need the prayers. Obvious lack of support from the U.S. could turn out differently than it would appear on the surface.

An isolated Israel, feeling cornered and alone could would become very, very dangerous indeed.

The treatment Netenyahu received while he was with Obama was discrasfull.  Obama has managed to offend some long time allis of the US.

The call to vacate the Sini would be good safety for his people in the event on fallout from an air strike on Iran.

Meanwhile Iran boasts of having nukes in a couple of months and our persident is disarming our country.

If war breaks out between Isreal and Iran there will be conflaguration in the middle east the likes of which will not have been seen before.  The cost of energy will make the summer before last look very cheap and will signal the end of our economy and many other country's as well.

How's that hope and change working so far?

-P.

Bunker Busters.

Gosh...see what happens when you play with splitting an atom.

You Iranians should have been more careful with that stuff.

I read or head that Netenyahu decided not to participate several days ago. I tend to pay some attention to Israelis.

I think the original article was issued for the purpose stated, kidnapping.  The Red Sea area is small in comparison to the large borders Israel shares with Jordan & Egypt.

Perhaps, the speculation suggested, in retaliation for a first strike on Iranian nuke facilities.

Looks like this might have had something to do with the warning:

Quote:
NOW Lebanon correspondent Amal Shehadeh quoted Wednesday Israeli newspaper Yediot Ahronot as saying that the Israeli Air Force suspended a plan to attack Lebanon.

The attack was planned over the past few weeks following reports that Syria supplied Hezbollah with Scud missiles, said the daily.

It quoted an unnamed Israeli security official as saying he has concerns that Syria might supply Hezbollah with chemical weapons. He added that arms smuggling into Lebanon from Damascus has increased recently.

According to another report allegedly issued by the Israeli security services, Iran is pushing Hezbollah, Syria or the Hamas Movement to launch rockets toward Israel in an attempt to divert attention away from Tehran’s nuclear program.

My homeland is smaller than rhode island and is surrounded by enemies.

How much more does one have to give back in the name of peace?

Why don't we give back parts of the US to England?

Wars are wars and it's unfortunate but for a country to be expected to keep giving back is ridiculous.

In addition, Nobody asks that the Dome of the rock be dismantled because it was built on the holiest of holy sights of Jews.
That would never happen.

The speak of Israel setting up settlements for Arabs and limiting there livelihood always makes me sick.
Does anyone wonder about the camps in Lebabon, Syria or Jordan? The bans that these countries have against their own people.
Stop the terrorism and you have just as many rights as others. Israeli Arabs do.

It makes me ill how many relatives I've lost to suicide bombers.
How much is too much?

That is the stand.

That being said, some of my closest friends are muslim and agree. They wonder how in quran they are taught about Mecca as the holiest and though Muhammed rose to heaven in the dome of the rock there is no mention of Jerusalem.

That's it.....The token Jew.

I'd vote we give Washington DC back to England. . . . but that's just me.

I'm all for trading the North East to China for the debt we owe. From about D.C. up to Maine and the edge of Penn. to the ocean. Even up. Call it good.

Edit to add: They would probably get alone real well with each other.... ;D

Yup, he sure does look like he's capable of mass murder, mayhem and ethnic cleansing like many other crazy leaders in the Middle East....

I understand Lefty. I can't stand him over here either but I suppose we might categorize him with all those sweetheart South American dictators we propped up all those years. I suspect I'd have to live over there to really get into the twerp.

If it's any consolation, I'm sure Bibi's not too fond of you or your ilk either. Fortunately for Israel, her fate doesn't depend on his likes or dislikes. Only that he knows how to fight bullies.

If that's a reply to me, Brew you have me wrong.

It's not a fun place to be so from an Israeli point of view, he might be just the thing.

Quite simple really lads...!

I grew up in a country destroyed by war and ethnic cleansing. I watched as leaders of political parties both prodestant and catholic whipped their supporters into a frenzy so that burning a catholic family out of there home in a prodestant area became second nature to many and visa versa.

Ethnic cleansing is a vile, ugly practice that must not go un challenged. This Jihad nonsence is also a vile, ugly theory. It reminds me of the loyalist paramilitaries slogan meaning "any taig would do". In short this meant extermination of all Catholics in N. Ireland.

Benjamin Netanyahu is forcing ethnic cleansing on Israeli Arabs any many young families are being removed out of there homes and squeezed into the already over crowded destitute place that is the state of Palestine.

Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is another crazy prick who would eliminate the state of Israel without an after thought. Netanyahu is of the same mentality and would do the same to a number of Arab states given half a chance. Forget about your CNN, Fox and BBC's news, when you see all this shit first hand and see the consequences of mass murder, mayhem and ethnic cleansing you kind of think fuck you Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Benjamin Netanyahu, Ian Paisley and Martin McGuinness.

There are many good people in Israel who do not support this ethnic cleansing, like they are many good people in Iran and other Arab states that think Jihad is a pile of nonscence and want to live there lives like you and I. Yet, when all this shit kicks off it is they and their children who will die...!

We don't always have to pick sides, we have a choice to exercise our views and say 'No' to mass murder, mayhem and ethnic cleansing on all sides. We didn't in Somalia. So I say pray for all the civillians and innocent people of the Middle East.

Lefty,
Might I assume that you are an Irishman?

I can actually understand your sentiment.  Many years ago, I had a friend who was Serbian.  She told me what it felt like growing up and then what it felt like when, as a small child, she found herself in a strange country unable to speak the language (her family fled to Great Britain).  She did eventually adjust and learned to speak the language, but it was really hard on her.

Sometimes it becomes far too easy to sit in a comfy desk chair, in a place that  is not going to be bombed any time soon, and make judgements.
