A young teacher, by the name of Ms. Sparrow, one of the local middle school music teachers here in Weaverville NC, will be going in for brain surgery today.  She started having some headaches at the beginning of the school year, and thought nothing of it at first.  She eventually went and saw her Dr. and a subsequent CT and MRI found she had a brain tumor.

All the kids think the world of her, and she's a wonderful person.   I know of no other group that could be more comforting or more help than the family here.  If you have some extra vibes, positive energy and thoughts around, please can you send them Ms. Sparrow's way?  Her husband is anxiously awaiting the surgery to begin at the hospital, and if anyone can spare the time to add her and her husband to your prayer lists, I would be so very grateful.

Just got the latest update from Andrea.  The surgery went well, but they are *still* waiting on the biopsy results.  Apparently they had to be sent elsewhere.  Not sure if that means good news or bad.  I'll update more when I know it.

Thank you everyone, it meant the world to Andrea and to the school and students.

Well I'm sorry to say I have to update with some negative news.  The tumor was a stage II tumor, but benign;  Unfortunately, spinal fluid built up on the brain and she was rushed back to Duke and has an infection which they are treating while monitoring her in ICU.

I will update more when I know.

So sorry to hear about the infection and I hope that the docs can get rid of it.  I'm thankful that the tumor was not malignant.  Best wishes for a full recovery for your friend.
