It's clear my beloved E-Tank contains only room air. For the first time in 116 years, 02 did zip, nada, nill, nothing. Red Bull wasn't cutting it, I'm out of trex now, (in an argument with insurance over that as we speak...naturally!!!!), went with Excederin Migrain, 4 Way Nasal Spray and ice packs.  Not to whine mind you, but the second hit of the day to boot.

Must find gauge to measure purity of 02!!!! ;D

I suppose there's a quick way to find out what the purity of your oxygen is, but it might be impractical--given the fireball involved.

I hate those times when every tried-and-true method falls flat.  Sometimes it seems like the only thing to do is crawl in a hole and pull it in after you.

Seriously - sometimes you CAN get a duff canister.
Equally, there will always be rogue hits' nothing works for. I'm sorry it happend Joe, it's happend to me a few times too when O2 just hasn't helped but then, there is no med I've tried thats 100% but of all of them O2 works most.

Just out of curiousity - were you late hitting the O2? If you go past optimum point it has you regardless I've found too.

Am assuming you have more tanks in the garage??

That really sucks.  Prayers and good wishes getting to you as fast as possible.

Try the chilled O2 trick, either put ice and water in a bubbler or use the frozen tubing device.

Um, Oxygen isn't flammable, it is necessary for flame, but a flammable gas is also necessary.

Yes hunny, 4 more fulls in the garage. My new neuro.....who I already think the world of, is getting the prescription I need for trex.

Oxygen is, pure and simple, and oxidizer. You can saturate something that is not a fuel with oxygen and it still won't burn.

It is not an accelerant, nor is it a fuel. It doesn't even have to be present in order for combustion to take place - the role of oxidizer can be performed by other oxidants, such as fluorine. In a complete combustion reaction, a compound reacts with an oxidizing element, and the products are compounds of each element in the fuel with the oxidizing element

yes your right I should have put any thing that can burn and yes it is an oxidizer, but if apply oxygen to something that's burning the rate of burn will accelerate so dose that not make it an accelerant as well? Have you seen the experiment where they put liquid O2 on cotton wool and then throw a match at it and it goes off like a bomb ?

Thank goodness the new neuro is so responsive! Joe already has a supply of trex. So thankfully if he gets nailed again and o2 doesn't work, he'll have a backup plan.

You're in that ballpark.  My last one was 5 years ago at age 54 (longest and thoughest one I ever had).  I've noticed a lot of similarities in our clusters.

Just curious...how did the problem with imitrex resolve? Did your neuro work something out with the insurance company, or just supply you from a samples stash? wimsey1

I wasn't specific enough Wimsey. My neuro insisted I try the new air injector version of imitrex. I was in a very low cycle at the time so to save money we used my insurance companies mail in prescription service. Generally takes about 4 days but saves us bucks on all our prescriptions. We got the notice from them that the new version wasn't covered, about the same time I started getting slammed.

A long way to say I went back to the neuro, got a prescription for the now generic imitrex stat dose and got it filled immediately.

I know BarbD is kinda sorta kidding, but I've wondered about you not having the adrenalin rushes anymore.  I wonder if it is indeed, a factor in the beast's return  . . . .

You could always be a mall cop, I guess . . . . get your adrenalin pumping just seeing what young girls wear to the mall! ;)

All kidding aside, those of you that know me know I work from home. So the thought of having him home all day when I'm home was scary. But...am happy to report, so far, so good! He's keeping busy doing stuff he wants to do, and he cooks for me too! How good can it get? :)

So, inquiring minds want to know... dud canister or morphing beast?

If the later check your PH.  Batch posted a long instructional around here somewhere on the topic.  If your PH isn't right it can affect how O2 works for you.

Joe reported in another thread that the O2 has killed his last two hits, so he's back in the saddle.

What I didn't want to tell you, Joe, is that the last two times O2 stopped working for me, I ended up in the hospital for 3 days' worth of IV DHE treatments. Sounds like that's not an issue for you now.

Hey, if things get too bad I can always send Caleb out there for a few weeks -- talk about STRESS!!! (ok, I'm just kidding... now get off the damn ceiling - would I do that to a friend??? ;D)

Batch had already PM'd me his PH recipe. Am now on a calcium citrate/VitD/Magnesium/Zinc/Lemonade routine. Still hoping it was just a hiccup, but with so many having success on the PH system I'm adding it to the mix!
