Title: Whine Whine Whine!!!
Post by BarbaraD on Apr 27th, 2010 at 6:23am
Lordy... I pulled a muscle in my back and am CRIPPLED!!!  Whiney whiney whiney -- this hurts like the devil.  Caleb spilled something in my bathroom and I grabbed a rag and bent to clean it up and walla -- pulled muscle (don't bend over when you're ticked off!!! lesson learned :))... This happened two days ago and I've been in PAIN ever since...

I've taken Aleve, Valerian root (herbal muscle relaxer), hot packs, masage chair, aspirin, ibupropen, (can't get drunk cause of head- curses!).

Seriously, I can barely get up and down out of a chair. I look like an old lady trying to walk (ok - no cracks - I know I'm an OLD lady, but I don't usually WALK like one).

Right now I"m sitting with a rice bag on my back and hoping the heat gets to my leg.

I'm about ready for this to go away...Have a friend with an ultrasound machine - thinking of calling him to come visit.. that usually helps... If it's not better by noon... he might have to come for lunch...  :) I pulled this thing sometime Sunday...

Whine over... Gotta go heat up my rice pack...

:-*

I've always found that alternating heat and ice packs, 4 or 5 times a day, helps heal pulled muscles the fastest. Heat to stimulate the circulation, and ice to reduce the inflammation.

A visit to a chiropractor might be a good idea.

Hope you feel better soon.

Back pain......it's just like tooth pain....throbs and there never seems to be a thing you can do until it runs it's course. Ouch. :'(

Joe

Tell Caleb he owes you numerous back rubs!

shower as hot as you can bare it and rub the muscles in your lower back from the top of your hips ether side of your spine and down and outwards... works wonders for me , and keep moving if you just sit or lay down you seize up .

Hope this helps, it's kept me going for the last 15 years

good luck

Nigel

Sounds nasty Barb...

Sitting and sleeping in a recliner is all that I can do and most of the time it helps. Of course if you have fresh batteries in your vibrator ..... Oops  ::)

Barb that sucks. Been there. My Chiro told me to apply ice first then heat. Helped me a lot.

Ultra-sound is WONDERFUL... My friend just left and that was after two treatments (ok, I fed him lunch in between to KEEP him here for the second treatment). He also found the "knot" that was causing the problem and although I "screamed" a lot while he was trying to get rid of it - I think he suceeded.

Anyhow I feel about 1000% better than I did this morning when I was crying getting out of bed and every time I moved. I think NOW I may go on to lead a fairly normal life... :)

Thank you all for the show of sympathy with my malady -- my family thinks I should carry on regardless (I may have to hurt them all someday!!). I have to come here to get any sympathy at all with my whinning... All I get here is, "Yeah Mom that's too bad, have you got my laundry done yet?" or "OH, what time is supper going to be ready? I've got something to do." Oh well, you "mom's" out there understand...

Luv ya   :-*
