Damn.

It sucks getting to know people because of this horror. All I can say is that sticking around here is a good idea while getting hit. Maybe some others here will have something helpful though.

Hang on....you might try sleeping in a recliner though. I sometimes had one fewer hit a night when I did so.

Hmmmm.  Not sure what you mean by this.  Mins. between hits of how long?

Getting to your abortive,  like 02,  immediately is a key factor.

You probably never got rid of the first headache.  (just ramped it down enough to think you were ok) That happens when you don't stay on the 02 long enough after aborting.  Stay on the o2 for about 5 minutes at a lower flow rate and that should help.  Good luck !

good point oneEye....there's a possibility that i didn't abort the first completely. i usually stay on the o2 for 20min. i did get to o2 immediately but it took an hr of off and on o2 before the beast was at bay...thought i was ok but probably 10 mins after i was off the o2(after i started feeling better) it hit full speed again...i barely had enough time off the o2 to start another round so trex was my next option, then o2 again....like i said, i had a really bad night

also to add to my fun filled clusters, i'm  an insomniac. i've been on so many different sleep aides it's rediculous. the dr's are in awe of how in the hospital i didn't sleep even when given a mild anesthetic. is lack of sleep my trigger???? probably. i dont know if any other clusterheads suffer from insomnia too. i thought for the longest time that the two were related.

I have a hard time thinking clearly of my plan of action. i am still getting to know the beasts kryptonite and how to use it.

I, too, have had many nights as you have just had. They really suck. No, I mean really really suck. Having said that, it seems you need to have a better handle on what abortives are available and what works for you. I don't know if your insomnia are CHs are related directly, or if they are each of product of the other...although that may be a good guess. I do know you won't die from lack of sleep, you just feel like you want to die. And crawl in a hole and pull it over your head. I had to adjust by staying awake at night and working on my PC, and sleeping in the mornings to catch up. CHs are circadian, which makes sense since they apprently originate in the hypothalamus. Recliners are good, too. Hang in there. wimsey1

dragon (I hate calling you that but at least I can SPELL that bit LOL) I've found how to work o2 for the best effect for me - it might help you too

What I do is stay on the O2 at full strength until the hit is completely gone - I have no pain.

I don't immediately stop using o2. I gradually decrease the LPM and loosen my death grip on my mask so that over a period of about ten minutes I gradually decrease o2 and introduce plain old air. I find this helps in two ways, it stops the hit from coming back and it allows me a recovery time.

I don't know about you but I'm as dumb as a box of rocks after I get hit. I find people don't understand, they leave me alone while I have them mask in place but expect immediate resuming of normal duties once I've come out of the war zone.. and I'm not fit for that. Keeping on the o2, relaxing my breathing and giving myself the chance to come back down to earth as well as gently decreasing the o2 really helps me. It might be worth a try for you!
