Title: Our Mosaic Wench
Post by Grandma_Sweet_Boy on Apr 29th, 2010 at 7:47pm
We were able to go to Creemore today which is about  90 minutes from where we live.  Our Pat has a piece of her artwork on display in a gallery there.

Pat's "Blue Moon" is really lovely and was one of the first pieces sold when the exhibition opened.  The new owner can't take it home until closing date for this show.

We all know and love our Pat - but apparently we aren't the only ones - the gallery owner is quite taken with her as well.

I didn't realize that truly artistic folks could do so much with tiny little pieces of glass.

My Bill found the piece in Blue Moon that has the number 4 on it.  Was that of any special significance?

Congrats Pat.

Oh Carol, thank you so much!!  It was a wonderful exhibit (from the photos I saw) and I'm glad you got to see it.  I'm glad you liked my piece, too!  Tell your Bill I have no idea where there is a number 4 on my work??!!!

Thanks hon, you made my day.

The #4 is on one of the orange pieces on the right hand side about 1/3 of the way up from the bottom.  I couldn't believe he even saw it - it was so little.  The orange piece almost looks like a little pumpkin that's been cut in half or something.

The gallery is really clean, bright and open - and she's got more jars filled with glass bits in her class room!  All I could think was - bring on the bandaids!

I scoured the photos I took and finally found it.  It's just a wrinkle in the glass that resembles a four - it has no significance at all, nor did I actually put it there!  I actually looked at the other piece I have that was part of that set to see if there were indeed numbers on it - nope, just slight black wrinkles.

But thank Bill for looking so closely at my work.  Wow!!

On a shelf right above Pat's workbench are several boxes of bandaids.  LOL

I'm so glad you got to go to the show Carol.  Pat and Bills house is full of her work.  In the windows, all over the garden, on the walls, on top of furniture, so in a way I got to see her gallery too.  I even took pictures and have them on my screen-saver.   She's a fantastic  artist, that's for sure.

I love my Patti.  Over.  ;)

Thank you Linda, and everyone, for your kind words.  They mean a lot.

And FYI Linda??  The last person to call me Patti is dead . . . .let's stick to Pat, shall we?   ::) ;)

O.K.    I was going to say "Pat" but the cadence of the line, somehow didn't fit.  LOL

With the dollar the way it is, it doesn't matter.

Pretty cool Carol.

I was happy I got to see her work at her house (& where she works too).  I felt like I was in a museum. :)

Must have been the velvet ropes that made my home feel like a museum.

If they were there, I didn't notice them.
