I like what one of the posters on yahoo said, "change it from zero tolerance policy to zero intelligence policy".

I LOVE this kid!

I love this kid too.

I'm also happy to see that it isn't just that old that makes me agree with the zero intelligence poster.

Personally, I think schools have gone way overboard on this. Most of us grew up with cowboys and Indians, cap pistols, road runner (Acme brick co.) and all kinds of crap like that. We played, we got shot, we shot, we fell down, we got up, we got over it.... and most of us grew up to be nice hard-working citizens without too many hangups.

We weren't protected from EVERYTHING, so when we came across something in our lives, we accepted it - it wasn't a big SHOCK!

I just don't believe in PROTECTING kids. I put them in front of the news and if they ask questions, I answer them. Bad things happen in the world - let them know that.

Lordy, we used to take grade school kids to visit the police station and the fire station every year -- now they don't do that because it might damage their psyche... hell, it shows them what can happen if they go wrong...(made an impression on me!).

Good for this kid... And good for the medal... maybe the damn school district will wake up (I doubt it, but maybe......)

Show me a 7-year-old boy who doesn't turn his breakfast toast into a gun, and I'll show you a kid who probably had his nads cut off at birth.

Just read an article that the Superintendent is going to "work to change" the policy to allow such apparel. 

One would think that the Superintendent, the person on whose desk the buck stops, should have just said the kid's hat is ok from the beginning.

This is when my old principal would have kicked out whomever brought up this thing and told them to go away and don't waste my time.....more likely get the fuck out.

Of course everything is procedure or has to satisfy some "guidelines" or the walls will come tumbling down.
