hello Boski
I had a slushie last weekend gave me killer brain freeze , like I'd never had before it was like an instant ch attack with all the symptoms at least a k7 but it only lasted about a minuet , see my post "slushies " lower down the page . as for ringing in the ear I've not had that one yet but others have posted about it , don't know about motion sickness but being the son of a fisherman I've been around boats all my life so for me that's not a problem, I'm sure some one will post about that tho. BTW no question is strange when it comes to the ever different beast that is CH God bless Nigel |

Motion sickness did go away when I spent some real time
sailing. But as a child in a car I would sleep or be sick. Parents thought it was great, drive around and I would be asleep in no time. Little did they know, it was that or puke! ;) Have a Gr8 One H_B_UK |

Haven't suffered from motion sickness (yet)
Increased ringing in the ears during and after my last episode (could have something to do with my prescrips?) I've become ice cream headache prone, but it's very brief for me, and although it is an intense pain, it is a just a novelty item for me compared to a strong CH hit. |

Hey Boski,
My husband and I were just discussing my symptoms and because I'm such a newbie to this I thought I'd chime in . We were discussing "shadows" since I'm not aware of what they feel like yet and I was describing to him what I was experiencing. On the afflicted side, i have a fullness in that ear, a ringing sensation, and that ear drains a miniscule amount (less than a drop) of clear liquid during or after an attack. Usually the ear is the first sign I'm going to get a hit. As far as motion sickness, my husband and I fly small planes and that doesn't bother me at all and I don't ever recall having it even as a child. We also ride motorcycles on winding roads and I'm okay there as well. I don't think I've ever experienced an ice cream headache. Am hoping to learn a lot here and on occasion maybe I can help. |

I never get sick if I drive and rarely if I am the pilot, but on
occasion if i would pull -G's or with the hood it was possible. Also can't read in motion. |

For some, like Calico, the lithium caused an ear ringing that has never gone away even though he's now off the lithium! I don't experience the ringing ears, but am stupid enough to always drink a shake to fast and get horrible brain freeze.
I am prone to motion sickness, can't look down when I'm a passenger in a car and get royally sick about every third fishing trip, no matter which tretament I use, mexclizyne, dopamine, the patch etc! Joe |

I get flashes of light in my right eye, the ringing in the ear, and also, shellfish has caused a massive relapse, but only for a couple days.
Beer doesn't bother me (though I am a celiac and drink gluten free beer) wine is deadly for me (may be related to the dehydration issue) and hard liquor isn't so great either. I am just coming off a few months of Topamax which blew out my months and months of a relapse; I'm down to 75mg/day, so I'm hoping I don't go into a cycle. I'm going to start up my melatonin again as soon as I get down to 25mg/day, as I'm already having trouble sleeping. Also have to get the O2 refilled. I have my bikes ready and a new pair of running shoes in case I run out of O2!!! |

Hi Ginger,
I also have twitching but it is in my lip on the afflicted side. When I'm really tired it is worse. So how do you handle the impaired thinking at work? My hubby says I'm no good at multi tasking anymore... LOL lib |

To be honest...usually by making a total ass out of myself. ::) :-? :o <Edited because my reply got interupted...> I also usually wind up apologizing profusely like I did today...my poor tech was really about ready to shoot me. My brain kept trying to tell me there was a problem with some acc.'s that I work, well there wasn't a problem with them, just the way my brain was working. ::) I hate having to make the apologies to begin with and many times, I can tell they still don't get the many different ways CH can affect a person. :-[ Luckily for the most part they are as understanding as can be expected. This doesn't mean it doesn't aggravate the shit out of them, but hey, how do they think I feel about it? ;D Not... more like >:( >:( Anyway I'm off to catch some zz's before 4am, Oh Joy. Stay PF |
