This morning Steven, a 20 yr old young man working with my son Mike, fell from a second story roof and landed on the back of his head. He has no paralysis, but he also has no memory other than his name and age. There is a skull fracture so they are putting him in ICU when there is a bed available and are doing surgery tomorrow to repair a "dent" in the back of his skull.

Please pray for Steven. Pray also for Mike. He has had trauma training in the Corps, but that is not the same as seeing a friend on the ground with a skull fracture. He's been staying at the hospital with Steven all day and is pretty shaken by the experience.

Absolutely Jerry...on the way...and I also think that sometimes prayers are answered BEFORE they are even made (know you'll understand that).

When I found myself laying in a hospital bed...my buddy was there...no prayers, no request...just there.
More comfort than I can describe...Mike's got a big heart...and I know where it came from.

My thoughts are heading their way from New Zealand.

Thanks so much for your prayers! Steven was kept in ICU overnight for observation. He has regained his memory except for the fall and ambulance ride and miraculously there was NO brain swelling. Yesterday afternoon the Drs installed a titanium plate to repair the pushed in protion of his skull, and he was sleeping well. He appears to be doing very well.

I'll post any further updates, but at this point it looks as if he is out of the woods. I just hope he isn't one who has later probs like CH from head trauma, but only time will tell that.

This family here means so much in a time like this, knowing that you are there to support us and someone you will never know just because that is the kind of people you are. In fact, last Sunday in the Jr Hi Sunday School class I talked about going to the ClusterHead Church, because in so many ways the love, caring, and concern shown at the OUCH convention is what the church is supposed to be, but being populated by humans often is not.

Stephen went home Thurs evening. Sorry I couldn't get to the puter to update Fri. He is doing very well, and your prayers are very much appreciated. The progress and recovery are miraculous and have confounded the Drs.
