Title: Why we do what we do
Post by Linda_Howell on Aug 3rd, 2010 at 10:59am
This was sent to me at my Family Services contact e-mail on OUCH and I promised I would relay his message to where the most people could see it.

My name is Andy. My father, Rick , suffered from ClusterHeadaches all of his adult life. This site was great comfort to him. Itis with great sadness that I write to say he passed away from a longbattle with cancer. I know he would have wanted the people he met with onthis site to know, but I can't find the proper medium to display thatinformation. Thanks for helping the old man out. It is through this site that he foundO2, which was the only thing that seemed to help. If you could somehowpass this information along, I would be indebted to you even more. Thankyou.

Do you have a screen name associated with Rick?

Andy, I know it is just words right now, but I'm so very sorry to hear of your Dad's passing.  I'm glad we were able to help a little bit.

I'm so sorry to hear about the passing of your Dad.
It was very kind of you to take this time to let us all know.

No.  He never got as far as ch.com but contacted me at OUCH to my FS account e-mail.  At OUCH was where he got the information he needed to make his fight with CH tolerable.

The reason I posted it here was because he wanted me to relay to others to know how much all the information about 02  helped his Dad.

I believed it was important enough to post it here because sometimes we all try here to help others and don't always get feed-back, or we have no clue how much the information we pass along to newbies matters to them.  They thank us and move on...but it does matter and this is but one example.  All newbies should be treated with respect until they prove w/o a shadow of a doubt that they're yanking our chain or giving bad advice or whatever.

I have sent my response to the son with a link to here, so maybe he will see this.

Linda: So glad you posted this, it's always nice to hear/see that CH.com has done well in supplying much needed info to CH sufferers/survivors and supporters.

To Ricks Son:
Thank you so much for thinking of us and letting us know of your Dad's passing.  My sincere condolences to you and your family.  You are all in my prayers.
