Yeah, there's just some things I don't understand either.

I'm one of those who believes if we leave...they will follow us home. There is a level of evil and hatred there most people will never begin to comprehend. It cannot be reasoned away, bought off, intimidated, or ignored. When you deal with evil of that magnitude, the only option is to eliminate it. Joes 2 cents.

Unfortunately, unless we eradicate the whole population of Afghanistan/Middle East, we aren't going to do that. |

The news just had Dr. Little's wife on. So sad.

These people want us dead. They have no interest in making nice with us nor the rest of the world. I hate them more and more every time I open the paper.
I feel the same way about the mosque. No one needs a 13 story religious "center" anywhere in NYC. It's not about religious tolerance on our part. I read that there are about 100 mosques in the city as it is. If this thing gets built, we better make them pay for their own security. Their gonna need it. Afghanistan sucks but it beats me what else we can do. Charlie |

factions are "... beyond reform, only dealt with by military force ..." -- Thomas Jefferson, over 200 years ago. He and James Madison proved the point twice. Written at the time after Madison's great stance, demanding not only the release of our own prisoners but the prisoners of other nations as well after we just fought a different war upholding our presence in the world: "To see the stars and stripes holding forth the hand of retributive justice to the barbarians, and rescuing the unfortunate, even of distant but friendly European nations, from slavery." ... Americans had accomplished what no ... nation had been willing or able to accomplish. It helped our entry and identity as a nation, and as John Quincy Adams put it, "as anything that has occurred in our annals since our existence as a nation." Fifty-seven towns and counties were then named for Madison, more than any other president. |

Completely agree Charlie. It makes me sick. What an insult to all who lost their lives, gave their lives to save others, and lost their loved ones in the hubble. |

I'm old Marc. 8-) Members of my family were also Civil Defense volunteers about 50 years ago.
The country needs to be reminded of just what the hell we're doing over there and we'd do better if we at least had a feeling of mutual sacrifice. It's how such things were done in the past. I look at the Taliban and Co. as real enemies too, not just terrorists. They attacked New York City....London too, and killed 3,000 people. No one ever got that close in my lifetime. In any event, Afghanistan needs to be story number one on every newscast. I can't believe that it isn't. Gay marriage isn't a front burner item; this is. What the hell's the matter with us? Charlie |

Right on Marc. Limited war means hang around long enough, in a stalemate, until the politicians pull the plug on you because they think it will win them votes and we shouldn't let that happen to those brave soldiers who volunteered to fight this war for us. Never enter a war unless you're prepared to go all out and once in it, kick ass & don't worry about taking names. |
