Just when I was really celbrating busting the beast,,,

Now I got shingles.   I am deciding if shingles is worse or Ch is worse.  never thought anything could be worse than Ch.  but having to reconsider this.
   sooooo painful, and must run its course just like the Clusters.
    Head and neck pain,,,and the blisters are all on my neck and my hair is falling out where they are on the head behind my ear .   JEESH. 
   The nerves in my head are inflamed from the shingles.....veins get inflamed from the CH. and press on the nerves .....Is there no rest for my poor nerves?
       Dag nabit!

Anyone have any good advice ?    I mean other than cutting off my head!              :(

But unlike clusters, shingles doesn't keep coming back, over and over and over and over....that alone should help you make up your mind which is worse.

It's the same virus that causes chicken pox. Lies dormant in the nerves for decades, then WHAMMO!

There's a light at the end of the tunnel. I've never had shingles, so I can't say that I have any idea what you're going through.

My mother developed shingles 2 years ago. I had never seen my mom ever let on about anything painful.

But this had her in tears and lasted for a couple of months. I DO feel for you Carol. It WILL go away and hopefully never come back.

Haven't ever had shingles, but I had the chicken pox as a kid.  This (and some other stuff I've seen) is making me seriously consider the vaccine.

My friend, Greg, had shingles a couple of years ago.  It followed the path of the trigeminal nerve.  He told me later that if that was a taste of what CH is like, he didn't want any damn part of it at all.

Hope the stuff resolves itself soon.

Ouch and more ouch! Nasty thing. I've not had shingles but then I've heard nothing but horror stories.  :-/

I so know what you are going through as I had shingles on my scalp a few years ago while in cycle to boot, never want that again!!!!!
It was very painful and NEVER want to have it ever again.
My doc scripted me a med (I forget what it was) and it cleared up after a couple of weeks.
Once again, sorry you are going through this :(

I don't have any advice for you, but wanted to say I'm very sorry for what you're going through. :(

My mom a dad both shingles Very painful!! now me I waited till I was 28 to get chicken pox that was bad enough :-/

Thanks guys... last night was hopefully the worst.   Just like anything else, it takes ya a while to figure out the routine.   At least I think i have. lol
    If ya never had it....here is how I described it to my poor BIL last nite in and e_mail.
    Shingles===    Take the worst hangover you have ever had, and multiply it by ten and...  add it to your neck also.
      take a blow torch, and seer the side of your head and neck, concentrating on your ear.  until blisters apear.
  Hide all weapons in the house!!!
  Keep yourself in a zombie state at all times, and try not to post on the Net while in that state. lol
   Hide all weapons anywhere!
   Don't work or play or go out in the sun. All the while, ignoring the serious looks of pity from those who know.
     Then pay the greedy healthcare system scads amounts of money.
    That about gets it.    Sounds a lot like CH dont it.  lol

   Anyway...today is a better day.  Long way to go yet, but I think I got the surprises behind me, and a good support system.  Thank GOD.
     Cant even imagine having this at the same time as a CH cycle.  yikes.

   OH...about that support system....you all are a big part of that,,,and I thank you for being here.

     SOOOOO   what is my advice!!!
  GET THE VACCINE.          get the vaccine      get the vaccine...you don't want this!    and it would be way cheaper.

You did as great job of describing what it feels like.  Wow...I do hope that the worst is over and if you had to have a HA on top of all this...well I can see why you would say get the guns out of the house.

Most people say they don't want sympathy...but I'm sending it to you from Kentucky anyway.   :-*
