:'( Spend so much time sweating the big picture we forget the 100,000 little pictures, all the little kids missing their daddy's. Damn that was a heart wrencher.

Simply amazing to watch. I can't imagine anyone watching that and not being moved by it.

Seeing the initial look of disbelief for a few seconds turn into absolute joy as they realise that their loved one really is there as raw emotions are displayed.

You see how flowers and other gifts are simply ignored as all that matters is the person.

It also made me think of the reactions of those who will never see their loved ones return.

Thanks Jimi.  You brought back some wonderful memories of just a couple of years ago seeing Rob come home.  I don't think I will ever forget the feeling of seeing him march into the arena with the other Marines and Sailors.  The joy and relief that he was home safe surpassed about every other feeling I have ever had, far surpassing the joy of his birth.

Mike,  I know what you mean about those who will not be able to greet their loved ones coming home.  My heart grieves for them.  A good friend with the Marine Corps League in Ft Worth is having to bury one of his Marines killed in Afghanistan.  The price these kids pay for us is far beyond what we can repay.

Jerry
