BTDT too Svenn and no... it is not a sign of weakness at all.  Besides medication I haven't ever found something else that works even a little. 

It's kind of like CH.  Unless you have it, no one can possible understand the pain.
Meds help, but talking about it to someone who isn't going through it is almost useless.  At least that's been my experience. 

I sincerely hope your GP can recommend something that really helps you my Viking friend.   :-*

Edit to add:   I have heard many times that depression is anger...turned inwards.  There may be a lot of truth to that.

[smiley=hug.gif]  Hey Svenn, I'm sorry that you're feeling so low.  Depression is a terrible life sucking affliction!!  The only thing I can say is just keep putting one foot in front of the other - one day at a time,yes.  I'll be keeping you in my thoughts and hope that Friday proves fruitful.

And Linda I agree totally, if you haven't had it you can never understand.  Frustrating if someone says "just snap out of it" much the same as "have a tylenol and a lie down."  And yeah, perhaps there is something in that - anger turned inwards....

On the bright side, over the years I have come to know quite a few people who suffer from depression (myself included) and it is my opinion that these people are the most sensitive, caring, interesting and intelligent folk  ;)    It is certainly character building.   Svenn I hope you wont think that I'm being too flippant!!  I really do believe this to be true.

Although I am a relitive new comer to this forum as I have been away since my last cycle but I suffer from pretty much all ofthe maladies associated with this condition depression being first and foremost. I was always of the mindset that I could handle ANY challenge that came my way in fact I prided myself on it but this condition is tricky not only does the beast wreck you physically but it seems intent in most cases to reek havoc on you mentally. So I just came to the conclusion that for once I had to admit that something was stronger than me(not easy beleive me) so I surrendered and  I immediatly felt better. The only analogy I can give for this is when there is a war and one side surrenders there is imediate help,aid and benefit to the surrendering side. So I asked the universe(god as I understand it) to accept my surrender and while it did not make my depression dissapear it helped me to acknowledge that this is not my fault and I am powerless to stop it which in itself gave me renewed hope and strength . Hope this helps.  :)

Svenn....depression has nothing to do with being sad. Depression is a disease just like clusters.

Fortunately, there are medications that can bring you back to feeling well again. It usually takes a few weeks to see if the one the doc chooses is the right one, but there are many meds to fight this.

Different feelings can lead to a similar rock and hard place.  I can almost daily mutter about myself I now know why I escaped life, with enthusiasm, and feeling always like the only one self-regarded so unfavorably.  You've good Norwegian wood, friend.

Hang in there my friend, we all know how tough it can be but when it seems darkest the light always seems to show up, so hang in there I am sure a break is just around the corner for you.

Svenn, I'm so sorry.  I don't know if you're like Gary, and part of what you are suffering is from being beaten down by pain for so long.
