No one here lives in San Bruno that I know of, but my prayers going up too.  Residents said they've smelled gas for weeks!!!

I used to drive right by this area on Sky Line everyday on my way home when I lived in Pacifica even shopped at the market they are staging at. Just incredible fire, they say up to 50 homes are gone right now but no confirmed dead but I would be surprised that everyone got out, this area has a lot of elderly people living in it just hope they all did get out. I am downwind about 20 miles so it will probably be a little smoky today. One of the people they interviewed said he had called PG&E a week ago complaining about smelling gas coming up from the curb at the intersection were this happened  and they said it was fine after coming out, can you say huge law suit?

The initial reports we got here in NZ was that a plane had crashed.

From seeing the pictures of the devastation I can only hope that a little of the luck that we had in Christchurch last week has made it to the other side of the Pacific.
