Im off to the doctors tomorrow to see about the next course of action with my medication and possible solution to these cluster migraines. Im looking forward to seeing someone again and explaining just whats going on.

Many thanks to Matt for his experiences and advice, I will consult my GP about it. I will update you all on what happens. Bye for now, Allen :o

I thought you said you were diagnosed with SUNCT?

I was basing what I said on Allens  first post.

Quote:
My names Allen James and Im based in Cornwall, united kingdom and I have been diagnosed with SUNCT for the last 5 years.

Sorry if I misread that Allen.    :-/

Yes I was diagnosed with sunct, what I was getting at was Im looking forward to getting to the next stage. what you dont know is that Ive been pumped full of drugs of all types for the last 5 years. None of which worked.

I was told the next possible stage is having a TENS type machine fitted to control the attacks when they are at their worst. Im looking forward to hopefully having some relief.

Also I have rejected my medication on the grounds that I am a father to 3 great kids and the medication I tried last made me moody and have snappy tendancies, hence I was no fun to be around. I just never returned to docs. I live with the pain now and I have done ok thus far but like I said before, I seem to have deteriorating memory and concentration. (its not a man thing!!! lol)

Going at 1600hrs GMT

Good luck Alan hope they can give you some relief, make sure to ask about the Lidocaine drip it may not break the cycle but the few hours you will be on it you will not have pain or symptoms and that after five years would feel like heaven even if only for a few hours. The drip would also be a clincher on the diagnosis since it seems everything I have read says that it relieves the symptoms in a SUNCT sufferer and sometimes makes it go into remission.

Good luck my friend and keep us posted.
PF wishes to you.

Well Ive just returned from docs, and they have referred me back to my original neurologist, who I went private with. They want him to assess me again and make sure nothing sinister is occuring with the memory lapses. I refused the drugs once again and she seemed to think as I rejected them and also mentioned my job is being risked due to my SUNCT, they will speed my appointment up.

On another note, they said Ive got to have a cyst removed from my hand so all in all, Im falling apart!!! Im 34 for crying out loud!!!  Thanks for the well wishes.

It seems to me that you're going at this thing the right way which is a long way toward dealing with this horror as best we can.

Oh.....Dying young.....beyond hope here....which is a pretty good state of affairs when I think about it.
