Title: A will
Post by Callico on Sep 13th, 2010 at 8:06pm
After several years and a couple of poorly done attempts at updating our wills Linda and I ordered them from US Legal Forms.com and updated them ourselves.  A lot cheaper, quicker, and we got them right.

Now, if I fall in a wood chipper tonight I can die in pieces.

We just went thru all that..........as I've learned from working in the court system, nothing brings out the love in a family like Probate Court. :o Do your loved ones a favor and get it down in writing before you die. One of the nicer things you can do for your surviving loved ones.

[smiley=crackup.gif]  Now that there is FUNNY!

After my divorce 15 yrs. ago my Edward Jones financial advisor who is also my friend told me... Linda you own property, you have Mutual funds and an IRA, you have 7 children,  you need to have a will/trust.  I have put it off because a lawyer wanted WAYYY too much money.   Going to go to legal forms.com now and do what I shoulda done years ago.

Thanks Jerry.  I'm also going to be writing a letter to each of my kids telling them who can have what.

Pat, my daughter Christine gets my mosaic I got at the last convention.   ;)

I've been planning my will for several years now. It's funny how the things which I've mentioned in that fictional will have changed a lot over the years...

On the serious matter, my parents did one will when I was 10. They went to work trip together (although they worked on different areas) and were afraid of what would happen to me if they both died during that 10-day long journey.

Since that trip, mom and I continued the tradition by making a will whenever we traveled abroad together. That was our way of making sure that our relatives would know what to do if the worst would happen.

I have not written my will yet, but I have written one piece of paper, which does state who to contact, if something happens to me, what kind of burial I wish to have and a request to donate to certain, ch- relating organizations and sites.

When I'm ready to do my will properly, I don't need to worry about who will do that. The same lawyer, a family friend, who helped us after dad passed away made a promise to do that for me.
