Title: Mood Music
Post by Perediablo on Sep 28th, 2010 at 1:04pm
Does music set your mood, or do you select music to fit the current mood you are in?

I have been of the ilk that selecting music to fit your mood is the way to go. Although I can use music to get "ramped up" so to speak.

What's your current flavor of the week?

I agree with you about selecting music to fit your mood.

However, if I were forced to listen to that link you provided for more than 20 seconds or so, I'm sure I'd find myself in the mood for suicide. Sorry, it's just not my cup of tea.

Lately I've been reverting back to my childhood musically...stuff like The Mamas and The Papas, Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, Otis Redding. Common threads: great melodies, great harmonization, classic R&B groove.

I know I sound like my grandpa, but they just don't write 'em like that anymore.

Most of the time I match my mood to the music, not the other way around.

No apologies necessary. I understand that this is not for everyone. I was more interested in showing the mood I was in. I am still in this mood. Anger is very prominent today. Reasons for which would require multiple threads, and posts to explain. I figured blazing fast Death Metal would convey it a little quicker.
